I am so chuffed with xsara I took her to a local yard which was holding a jump cross event over a sj course and xc course. Beverly took her around the 70cm class first and xsara was brill even though beverly was nervous she had no need to as xsara took her round at a nice sedate pace and just unfortunately knocked the planks down the 2nd last fence but they finished third. I then entered her into the 90cm class. I wasn't too sure about the sj as she is only just moved up to the 80cm class, but she flew round only picking up 8 faults in the sj clear in the xc but did enough to win the class. I didnt get any pictures of her today as forgot the camera but I am so chuffed she is comming along nicely. And afterwards we were able to school round the rest of the xc so we did the water which we managed with little fight and no lead and we schooled her over the ditch. I may also have someone to ride her next year to compete at eventing as his horse is now cnc** so he can't compete any lower than 1 star and as there isn't many he can do he is looking for a wee horse to compete and bring on next year and he very much liked xsara,s attitude today. Even though he is about 6ft tall and xsara is only 15h she is so bold and brave and he didn't seem put of by her height. So she is now back out in the field for a break for a few weeks to put some more condition on before the winter and to have a well earned break as she has had alot of work the last 6 weeks.
Brilliant! Love the idea of her wee holiday, late booking Fara did some impressive trotting poles and then a tiny wee cross pole today (her first jump) She is 4and just backed for 6months. It encourages me to see other people doing so well like you.
thanks sounds great tc. It is a really good feeling when they start over the poles for the first. defo a late booking and although the weather has not been great she still enjoying herself and loving it non the less
