Have just bought some bit guards and wondered if anyone has any good tips for getting the blooming things onto the bit?

If you mean the circular rubber things we used to thread 2 bits of string through or use a hoof pick to stretch them have fun !!

Try soaking them in hot water to soften them a little before stretching them on.

Hot soak in water and pull apart with baling string have fun

Would you believe it..there's a turiorial on the technique for getting the little on!

Try a little vaseline too, might speed things up! I'm sure you can buy them with slits rather than holes, to reduce the frustration, trauma & wasted hours of your life

The hot water definately works but it is tricky. Heat the bit too.

Thanks I will try sticking them in hot water and then the string technique, wish I had thought to get some with slits in now! If the bit is too small with them on I will scream, thats if we get them on!

Pop the bit guards into hot water and put a little washing liquid on the rings of the bit Have Fun.....

Tied two pieces of baler twine through, stood on one and pulled the other up like my life depended on it while daughter shoved bit ring through hole, worked a treat!
