I know oat straw is ok for horses but what about Barley straw ?

The problem with barley straw is some horses like it too much.

Mine have had barley straw mixed with hay (half and half) for years with no probs. All are good 'doers' though.

OH was driving across the country at the weekend and saw loads of cereal fields with ragwort in full bloom waving above the crop - just a warning to be as careful feeding straw as with hay/haylage.
