Hi Melynda, Thanks very much for the great lot of info on this horse after all this time, did you come across a pic of him at all. I'm was interested to see that Winki Pop II was owned by J.Duffin, the same person who also owned Scotch Mist and who is missing back breeding, Scotch Mist appears in Colbeach Nightlight's pedigree.
I'm also looking for the breeding of Tancremont 1920~ a TB I think. and the breeding of Son of Portlaw, all associated with the riding ponies of today. Thanks Sue

Hi tracingequines, I'm after the back breeding on these and their off springs, filling the gaps, so to speak.
Son of Portlaw was a Grey Horse, like his sire, this Grey line goes all the way back with an unbroken line of Grey, to the early Arabians, namley Alcocks & the Godolphin Arabians of the 1720's.
Tancremont, a small TB, won 24 races in Belgium, before heading to Silverdale Stud in the 1920's who was famous for Polo Ponies and many imports.(Frank Belfour) Thanks for the interest.
Melynda, Do you think Red Hands's off springs are listed any where and you mention show winners, are their any that I might be interested in. Cheers Sue |

Goodness your good Melynda, Is this the Hermis ?? http://www.pedigreequery.com/hermis
Got anything on the Irish HIS more recent years,(1980's) my mare has a granmother born & bred in Ireland, her name is Innisfree, she bred a few for Clement McMahon Snr.,in Gortnana (a village), my mare's dam was named Gortnana as she was born the year they moved in there. Innis free is blood typed, does that mean that her sire can be confirmed, do you know. I don't know hwo Innisfree's sire was, but he would have been local to them. Gortnana was registered late in the HIS/ISH, and was not blood typed, we understand Gortnana was either by Western Promise or Touchstone. Both these stallions were located in the Area and both used by the McMahon's on other mare's. I understand they used the always used the HIS stallions.
Over to you. fingers crossed. & thanks, in case you can help.
I've just bought two HIS Vol's for the 1964 -1969, found nothing there yet.

I'll look, I think she was the 1988 foal, Great you have managed to find them. Is there anything on a sire for Innis Free.
Gortnana,1988.Sk..mare.(ISH). 2088983 - IHB (first reg.IHB.1992).s.Touchstone/d.Innis Free. Innis Free, 1984.Pi.mare.1933175 -IHB (first reg.ISH.1990). In 1986 Innis Free had a black filly. Don't know about foals for 1987. 1988 - Gortnana.
Is there a full listing of all the foals born by Touchstone & Western Promise do you know.?? Mrs McMahon told me that Gortnana was not by Western Promise and by Toutchstone, so be interested to see those offsprings.
I have no idea who Innis Free was sired by, is there anything in the register to indicate who was her sire...???
Thanks a lot. have left you a PM with. Thanks Sue |
