I'm a Cheltenham widow this week - he's commandeered the remote and the sofa! By the end of each day he'll be exhausted after riding every race, I'll have to put him in a darkened room to recover from the excitement, but not before he's done the yard duties with me ! |

Absolutely love it. Just saw Ruby steal the Supreme Novices before I had to come back to work - no signs of rustiness for having been off for 4 mths. Also love Francome - he tells it as it is!

I have such a love/hate relationship with racing. I love watching Cheltenham, the Channel 4 team are great, and I love hearing all the little stories and gossip behind each horse. But as to watching the actual races, I'm usually peering out of from behind a cushion and praying for all the horses to come home safely. At least this year it's not torrential rain and thick mud, I hate seeing seeing NH horses being slogged through those conditions. |

I'm a BIG fan - sadly no chance of watching much live this year - no tv or internet connection in our new unit where I teach. In the past I used to have it on the tv and one memorable year I had a class of mainly Asian children cheering for Desert Orchid when he won the Gold Cup!!! |

I will be watching it we did have a runner entered for friday but as he was down for balloting we have decided he is not going as it is a long journey to go and would need to go a couple of days before and as we won't know whether he gets in till the day before it wouldn't be fair on the horse. But we will be in and out during the day watching the races, so hopefully not miss too much |

Enjoyed it today and picked a winner in Hurricane Fly! I love it when they do a special piece on certain trainers/horses/yards it's always really interesting. Must go and study form for tomorrow!

xsara: how exciting to (nearly) have a runner at Cheltenham! What's the horse's name and what race? |

I think Helen's view is representative of many. I enjoyed my snapshot of Cheltenham and am especially looking forward to the camel racing at Perth which I understand is an extremely relaxed and chaotic affair |

I was very pleased for Long Run and his amateur jockey - a wonderful achievement, but I must admit shedding a tear for the valiant Denman (and Kauto Star of course). |

I was hoping Imperial Commander could win again but it was a great race. Lovely to see Kauto and Denman running so well and Long Run certainly silenced anyone(including myself) who thought he didn't like Cheltenham! Hope I can go to the meeting sometime in the future - the atmosphere must be fabulous. |
