PADRON... I love that video and never tire of watching it! In fact I was looking at a video of one of his grandsons yesterday, the stallion HONORRS. |

Way back when AI was first permitted in the UK we had the offer of some free semen to introduce this wonderful horse to this country and, would you believe it, we couldn't find anyone to take up the offer. Totally gobsmacked, the over-cautious British never cease to amaze. What a lost opportunity.

I was lucky enough to meet him in person in the early 90's when he was presented with his son Padrons Psyche. Quite something and I felt quite humbled by him !! He did his legendary rear and looks fantastic !! Amazing to think his grandmother was bred in the UK by Joan Ratcliffe :)) |

I have a Padron grandson who sadly has never had a chance at stud, even though he was rated by one US breeder as 'the best Padron grandson I have ever seen'. He has a stunning head and the most glorious eye - sadly now only one, due to an accident, which means I cannot show him. But he has the most fabulous temperament and is much loved by the small girls of the area who come regularly to give him treats!
His breeding is interesting as he also has NARIADNAIA on the sire's side, so double Aswan, and his dam line is also Joan Ratcliffe breeding, closely related to Odessa, so he has a very 'tight' pedigree.
Sadly, because of personal circumstances, we have never been able to give him the chance he deserves.

Absolutely lovely, power and grace ,and over 60% Crabbet I imagine that he was a fabulous horse to ride... what did he do under saddle?
Sorry to sound a slightly negative note but who was the infidel who cut off half his glorious mane? !! |

Gorgeous--I hope he was ridden because he is crying out to be ridden What power and grace. Not keen on the glimpse of Anza Padron ridden though--looks like that horrible altered high stepping gait with the rider sitting on his loins that the Americans are so fond of. And I agree--shame on whoever cut off that beautiful blonde mane. There used to be a fashion, not seen quite so often nowadays, for bald men to grow their hair long and comb it over the bald pate. There is something about a long forelock, then a bald stretch of neck, and then long mane flying, that always reminds me of a man with a comb-over on a windy day . It really doesn't go with all that beauty and grace. |
