Hi all, just an update on the rescued mare from windsor. She had the dentist today who is also a vet,she is aged about 10yrs her teeth were very sharp but all done now.Good health apart from being 50kg underweight and she is not infoal which i,m quite happy about as i will now have just her to concentrate on and as my crabbet mare has tendon problems i have something to work with when she,s gained weight. So onwards and upwards for her and never again neglected or unloved.I am very relieved.

Thank you for the update, and you must be so relieved that she isn't in foal, one less thing to worry about !

Wishing you many years of happiness with her, it sounds like she has really landed on her 'hooves' with you

I,m looking for a saddle for this mare for when she is ready to start work. Something like a Thorowgood T6 for hi withers, but very cheap as she will change shape many times through her recovery so not worth buying anything expensive. Please pm me if you have anything unused and gathering dust. Thankyou.

Hi

You might want to consider a Corrector Pad by Len Brown. I have absolutely nothing to do with sales of his, just that I bought one western one, absolutely brilliant. Have ordered another one. They do cost a lot and have to be brought over from America, but the joy is that you can use an "ok" saddle and it does no harm. We have such hell with saddle fitting, don't we! I was lucky and managed to get an English Corrector pad off EBay very cheaply, never used this one, got it in case I get a Podium saddle, but wouldn't consider using an English type saddle without one. Not selling it I'm afraid, just think personal recommendation is worth more than any amount of advertising.

Regards

Hi Debby, hope you got my email!! A suber pad is also very good as it moulds to the horses back under the saddle..It fills in the hollows, like a bean bag in consistency. You will pick up a cheap synthetic off ebay, lots on there.
Good luck,
linda

Hi all,she is doing very much better this week and even comes to the front of the stable to say hello instead of standing at the back and also has shown us her fab paces and tail over the back routine i the field. We have also found out that the woman who had her is somehow linked to James Gray (spindles farm), and there were also 6 foals dead in the field there last summer and the bodies quickly disappeared,it makes my blood boil. Also i,m still trying to find a used saddle for her but i,m on a low budget at the moment with having to kit her out and vets bills etc so any help with that would be sooo much appreciated.
