I've been fairly certain for a while now that when my boy retires I'll be getting an Anglo, but if I was to be swayed to a Pure Bred it would be one like Bertie. I do love a powerhouse, leg at each corner type if you know what I mean. He was just luscious!
Plus of course he was a Mikeno grandson and I love that line - our dearly missed YO owned a Mikeno son (Mikhan of Pulpits) and he had a temperament second to none and just SO versatile! |

Long before I owned an arabian horse I had gone to a show with a friend and I don't even know now why we went to an arab show but I saw Crystal Majician and was stopped in my tracks by his beauty I could not take my eyes off him and went to speak to the lady that owned him and I told her that I only had big horses but that I had never ever seen such a horse as hers and from that moment on I was totally in love with the Arabian horse but at that time I did not know about the Crabbets, russian or Se bloodlines |

Well Tanya, Debs and Gerri you are all ladies after my own heart, I'll be very lucky if I ever have another Bertie, they're hard to find. Kaz I didn't buy Bertie from the people you sold him to, he changed hands a few times in the 3 years between you selling him and us buying him, I could never understand why as he was such a lovely horse in every way.
Here is Cacharel again, she is a Crystal Magician grandaughter on her sire side and a Mikhan of Pulpits granddaughter on her dam side !
Its not really suprising her offspring perform so well
And here are a couple of Hari, Bertie's son out of Bint Amazima, Crabbet/Babson breeding

Wow, nice to see a pic of Bertie as a young man, before I knew him, I loved this horse he was a true gentleman, I'll never forget him... Love Debbies little Fly as well can't wait to see him out under saddle... a real star |

I hope to have one of Daphnes Crabbet mares. As Masta is clear of all the undesirables Daphne has given me a choice. As Bint Arishma has a foal at foot and empty or one with no foal but in foal to Crystal Romance, great choices, have to decide soon. Arishma and Bint Irexandya have stunning useful foals which make great S/H, which is what im hope to breed with Masta. Very exciting times ahead. Also the market won't affect me as im planning on running the foal on ! |

Worth noting that this years AHS Marathon winner Shakmari Gold (Mareschal x Shakirah Gold by Golden Cavalier) is pure crabbet/Old English (I think). Very fast time too, good to see these Crabbet Arabians excelling in endurance. |

What a fascinating thread. I particularly loved seeing the photos of Ibn Marino Marini as my first Anglo, Autumn Light, was by Marino Marini and out of the TB Autumn Bride, bred by Joanne Lowe. She started my love affair with the Arabian breed. We rarely seem to hear of these lovely bloodlines now although Mikeno was such a star. The Part-breds who have followed Autumn, Vlacq Garnet (Ferozeshah/Hafod Kelly), Aldwych Arabesque (Sunray Scelebrity/Llanarth Rosetta) and Vlacq Redwood Reflection) (Vlacq Khazad/Vlacq Tathar) all have Crabbet bloodlines and all have exhibited those lovely Crabbet qualities. |

This is my first time posting on here and I am loving this thread!! You all have some very beautiful horses! I am very fortunate to be the proud owner of Silver Xenia by IBN Silver out of Bint Irexandya Romac Stud, shes 5yrs old and I love her to bits! She is my 1st longed for Arab who I have owned for 3 years and she was broken at home by my 17yo sister and myself as a 3yo, she was an angel and has been ever since!! People always comment on how sensible she is for her age all 4 of my children from 10 to 2 years ride her, shes amazing! Ive now said if I buy another horse in the future I'd love for it to be another from the Romac Stud! I will try and post some pics! |
