Due to weather, work etc (always an excuse) I havent managed to ride as often as I would like recently but over the past 7 days I have ridden 6 of them and im so chuffed for myself, sorry very self indulgent post but had to share as OH just doesnt get why I am so pleased!! One of those days was only for 15mins round one of the farmers fields but done some nice canter work. Got a jumping lesson tomorrow so will prob be in pain tomorrow night but going to try my hardest to keep it up!
How many night a week does everyone else manage to 'fit in a ride'?
Also, started leaving my mare out for a few nights whilst it wasnt raining so roll on no more mucking out and long light nights!
Ahh what a good feeling this must be. I haven't ridden since december in the snow. The weather up here has been so bad. Wind, rain ice or just too busy with sheep. In Sheffield I used to ride 3 times per week. here it is practically impossible.
I count myself lucky as I am retired but because of weather only really started "working Laddie "properly a fortnight ago. Even that wasn't so succesful (managed three days quiet hacking and one lunging, then last weekend the gales came. But I've managed to ride four days out of five this week and like you feel pretty chuffed! My first "lesson" of this year is on Tuesday. Managed to put Laddie out rugless today so keeping fingers crossed the weather doesn't all go down the pan again!!(sitting here waiting for the sun they promised) Sandy East Sussex
Don't ride now but understand just how you're feeling! You go girl!! ...and what has happened to the sun Arabianrio? Meant to be sunny Saturday and wet Sunday, wake up and do horses in rain this morning!!!
Lucky you, I haven't ridden for about three weeks now due to the weather and then having a really bad cold last weekend. Hopefully going to get out for a couple of hours this afternoon!
Yesterday was spring! I also left Spider out without a rug for an hour so he could roll and get rid of that nasty winter coat (he is starting to moult) Today, weather is as normal, wet and windy. I have ridden (in the rain) about 4 times last week. Worried Spider isnt quite fit enough for the training ride I am planning to do next weekend.
