Well Its been 6 weeks since Zar injured his stifle whilst (i think) disco dancing in his stable. The vets original diagnosis was just a pulled muscle, and a few weeks box/field rest and he will be right as rain. Well he is still very lame. Very short in walk, hopping in trot and the other day something spooked him in the field, and he cantered across it on 3 legs

So I phoned the vet again today, and he agree's with the nagging doubt I had all along, there must be something more wrong. So he wants him in to xray, nerve block, and scan him early next week.
He's really not himself at all. Although he's always pleased to see me, he seems very short tempered and down, which is so not like him.

Since he did it I have had a horrible feeling there is something really wrong, when I phoned the vets on the morning he'd done it, I paniced and burst in to tears talking to the receptionist on the phone, and that is really not like me.
I really hope I'm wrong, I really hope it is just muscular, and nothing more.

The fear of not knowing and worry is worse and so draining. Once you get a diagnosis you'll feel better I'm sure. Fingers crossed it's not too bad

I think Fee is right - it's not knowing and not being able to do anything that's so awful. Once you have a better idea of what you're up against you can begin your plan of action. Big hug from me x

Totaly agree - nothing worse than going over and over worst case scenarios! Not knowing is, as Fee rightly says, draining. Fingers crossed for you both.
