A few years back , while I was picking blackberries in the field Shani would walk along with me and soon got a taste for them, but she always wanted me to pick them for her , in the end I would leave her and she started picking them herself. She soon attracted the others who would mimic her, all getting a taste for black berries Now when I look out there , I see her daughter plus son, her sister with her baby all lined up along the hedgerows happily tucking in to natures bounty , I think that Shani would have been proud . I will try and get a picture when they next do it as it is so funny

My mare used to do that and her son (kazzy) does it now!!
Its so funny because he like purses his lips up so he doesnt get a scratch and then picks the blackberries off with is teeth
Bless them.

Lovely story - hope you can catch it on film. She was a beautiful mare. Shadeen picks plums in the garden - the first time I caught him at the plum tree I panicked about the pips, but then I noticed he spits them out just like us. |

It is clear she will never be forgotten by you Lynda but what a legacy she has left. Every September you will have your little reminder of your lovely girl as her gang partake in her favourite pastime.
She was such a stunning girl. Beautiful fleabites - or are they blackberry stains?! Bless you Shani. |
