I feel I need to highlight just how, fabulous results CAN be achieved with kindness and true Horsemanship...As many people know Kuda has been through some tough times in his past and because of this he has huge issues when it comes to showing indoors. What happened yesterday at Towerlands was nothing short of a miracle. Kudi has been with Erik and Josje at Bluebell Training centre in Holland since april and the bond between Erik and Kuda is plain for everyone to see.. It took alot for me to send him away for producing but when Erik walked in his stable at Aachen, Kuda chose Erik...I had never seem him react in such a positive way towards a stranger,I just knew we had to do it and what an experience it has been.
I have missed my boy soooo much and it is heart wrenching everytime I have to say goodbye but I know Kuda's heart is with Erik at the moment and thats where he should be...The enjoyment of watching each step he has taken has been immense, each show taking one step closer...His confidence growing more and more and all done through kindness and understanding... The ultimate reward was seeing the two of them yesterday at UKIAHS, not only achieving Bronze in the championship and a fabulous score of 92.1, but much much more...KUDA HAD A BALL... Watching Kuda and Erik playing together will live with me forever, I close my eyes and its all I see, no words can truly express just how happy I feel.. There were doubters that kuda would ever perform indoors but I always had faith in him and Now he has found his soul mate in Erik.... ALL THIS ACHIEVED WITH KINDNESS, LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING....
and now i'm in tears again just writing this, god this breed really does get inside your heart...

Ah what a truly memorable day for you. The pic of Kudi on FB looks just stunning.
Gut instinct is the most amazing thing. You did what you thought was best for him and it has paid dividends.
Just wish we hadn't of missed this show-next year we better be there
Enjoy enjoy! x |

Don't know the history but I do know the pain of having a beloved horse traumatised and then the absolute joy of watching it learn to love and live again.
You so obviously love him Fiona, and it's so lovely to see your selfless love for him and full acceptance that he is happy (for now) sharing his joy with someone else. I know that feeling - it's bitter-sweet. But you have the certain knowledge that the two of you will be together and soul mates when the time is right and when experience has etched love and smiles on your hearts.
For now, enjoy every single second of your pride in him.
So pleased for you xxxxxxx |

So lovely to hear. Did I see him in Paris in December? that calm chap stood in the corner of the collecting ring when many others were doing loop the loop before entering the arena? |

It was amazing to watch and his result was well deserved. IMO there are handlers who can handle stallions and then there are 3 or 4 handlers who have an amazing rapport with them and get inside their hearts, and produce performances others simply couldnt. Erik Dorssers is definitely in that top 3 or 4. Kuda looked so well, well done to Bluebell |

Brilliant result, and superb handling - we all commented (even our friends with us, who have never seen arabs shown before!) how well he went, and what sympathetic handling he received. Well done! |

Hello all !
First to say that Kuda is safe back home in Holland, after a very exciting weekend ! Second, I would like to write a short line from Kuda and me. We would like to thank the crowd at the UK International show at Towerlands. We are happy that you all enjoyed us, and that we were able to take some frustration away from you, and show you that it CAN be done in a good way ! It took Kuda and me (and the team at Bluebell) 5 months to figure each other out, and now we are at the point where we love to show what we can do to the world. It was extra special to have it happen in the UK ! We also want to thank Fiona and her family for having such faith in us, and yes, Fiona has always believed in Kuda and she was right as we all could witness this past weekend ! Thank you for the support in the arena. And Fi, you are one hell of a good rider, and a true horseperson ! You and me think alike, and always put the best interest of the horse first, no matter what. Bless you.
Last year, I opened my mouth about the abuse that's nowadays 'normal' in the Arabian horse world. It has costs me dearly in all kinds of ways, but I feel that it starts to pay off now. No matter what people were saying or doing, trying to sabotage us here at Bluebell because of it, we stuck to our beliefs, and this weekend we proved ourselves right ! We got amazing comments from a whole lot of people, even the judges themselves, and we firmly believe that a lot of eyes were opened and people are starting to realize it CAN be done in a good way. Unfortunately nowadays, it seems like Glamour is more important than the wellbeing of our beloved Arabian horse, and that's just not right. We owe those horses so much, they give us so much joy in every day life, and we pay them back by abusing them ?? Is that fair ? And more important even, is it necessary ? We think not, and this weekend Kuda proved us right !
Thank you all for the support and feedback, it was fantastic to experience this, and we could really feel the love coming from the crowd ! THANK YOU !!!

Anne, I've often thought the same myself there should be a 'like' button on here. On this occasion, I love the words that Erik has written and so glad that his words are now starting to reap the desired effects. We owe these horses so much. Well done once again, Bluebell |

Congratulations for sticking by your principles Eric and team. How great to hear your philosophy of cooperation with the horse, rather than any dubious treatment to achieve the 'glamour' and results! Let's hope others adopt your style and the tide turns to help save the reputation of the Arab shown in-hand by genuine horsemen and women! |

You keep on doing it your way Erik at least you can sleep at night knowing that yourself and your horses and other peoples horses you look after are all right.
If there were more people like you in this world then it would be a better place to live in.
I have seen you show many many times and each time with love, honesty and genuine feelings for the horse you have.
