If you go on the RSPCA website and click on contact us at the bottom there is a link to the E Mail. Go on Jude send it, disgraceful behaviour by a charitble society.

The Spindles farm neighbours had been complaining for years.... with no joy! I know a couple of them, and they were scared too, makes it even worse when you put yourself out there just to be ignored! How many of those deaths could have been prevented.... |

This is bl**dy awful total neglect! not only on that poor ponies owner but the RSPCA too, they have neglected to do their job and someone should be answerable for it. Congrats and hope your foal is doing well. |

Well letter sent, whether it will do any good, I doubt it but we'll see.
Dear Sirs,
I am writing to inform you of my total anger and frustration at your so called ‘caring’ society.
I contacted the RSPCA on 22nd June – lunchtime, informing you that a horse you were “monitoring” due to its laminitis had been found dead in the brook. This horse belonged to the ????????????????– it had been suffering from laminitis for a few weeks, with seemingly no care or attention.
When the horse was found by a neighbour it was bloated and covered in flies/eggs etc so had been in the brook for a few days. The smell was horrendous, so the horse had obviously not been checked on a regular basis – hence someone should have noticed the horse was missing.
Your operator informed me that someone would call me back regarding this animal – despite phone calls to yourselves NO-ONE has bothered to phone me back and NO-ONE has visited the site to inspect the welfare of this horse or the other horses on this field.
I thought the new animal act was there to protect these vulnerable animals.
Your organisation is a total disgrace – all you seem interested in is the high publicity campaigns where you like to pat yourself on the back informing everyone how wonderful you are. Well I know better and believe me there are many many people who agree with me.
It’s about time you pulled your socks up and do what you are supposed to do and that is care for the vulnerable horses of this country. If you are going to monitor animals do so on a regular basis and if you say you are going to ring people back then do so.
I am attaching a few photos of the horse you were monitoring – well done RSPCA – have a pat on the back.

I stopped supporting the RSPCA after they, WWF & another large "animal" charity donated several million pounds to the Labour party for the 1997 elections. I object strongly to my money being given to a political party without my permission. They're only interested in the easy, small, cuddly animals that generate good publicity. Don't have a clue about equines. |

Disgusting, and not at all isolated! I have had many encounters with the rspca, and not one has been remotely positive. Poor pony. The pain and distress that pony must have been in in nthe days/weeks before it finally gave up. I feel sick just thinking about it. Ros |

Despicable!! On all counts & to think all the money people willingly donation to this 'charity' who are totally oblivious to how c**p they really are. I wouldn't give them one penny. From their website The RSPCA believes that the basic welfare of all animals must take into account the 'Five Freedoms'. These are: - freedom from hunger and thirst - freedom from discomfort - freedom from pain, injury or disease - freedom to express normal behaviour - freedom from fear and distress. They have failed this poor pony, and probably many, many others And yet never seem answerable to cases such as this |

Well after 30hrs I had a message left on my answermachine from the RSPCA saying they couldn't find anything on their system which related to my complaint - wait for it --------- THE ONLY THING SIMILAR WAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH A PONY WITH LAMINITUS ARGHHHHHHHH but if I would like to ring their national help line (more money) to confirm this!!!!!!!!!
SO I'VE CALLED THE NATIONAL HELP LINE - SAT ON THE PHONE FOR A WHILE AND ASKED THE OPERATOR TO GET THE INSPECTOR TO RING ME BACK ON MY MOBILE - hmmmm just wondering what I could say to him!!!!!
PS Thanks Mandie I've pm'd you. |

such a sad story poor poor pony.
I used to think the RSPCA were good until i reported 4 horses in a near by field that were skinny and had no fresh water nor hay. The only water they had was in a little pond that had oil floating in it. I rang the RSPCA to report them, sadly there was foals involved sucking off a very lean mare. I spoke to neighbours of the field who said they hadnt seen the owner in weeks. RSPCA rang me back to tell me that they had been and that the ponies were in good nick and that us horse owners are used to seeing fat horses when we see a proper one we report them. I WAS SOOO ANGRY
Well sadly the worse pony collapsed in the field 2 days after RSPCA visited and had to be PTS vets said it was in very bad condition and full of worms! I left the RSPCA guy a very very not polite voicemail! But thankfully all horses were then re-homed via local horse people as we couldnt rely on RSPCA. |

What about reporting this to the press!! Doubt any *national* papers would report it but you can always try. Some *red top* newspapers might be interested.
Like you said and many others have said, if they arent getting in the press or on the television for saving a cat up a tree they are not interested.
Go on, report them!!

Ours is up the road from us RSPCA and are c*** We had house checks etc etc did all they asked to rescue a dog rather then go to a breeder, day we were supposed to get our chosen dog that the kids had visited at kennels and walked for 3 weeks we were told he was suddenly not suited to us so we could not have him ! Imagine explaining that to 3 children at the time under 11yrs We were offered another dog that was nervous and to be honest i would not have trusted to be around my children so we went and got our gorg boy now 11yrs However we did find out that a member of staff who lived in a first floor flat again local to us had him for herself unyet already had 2 other dogs ! Another time i reported a run over ferrel cat in the village that had been run over , nobody could see to it although it was in a bad way as was full on attacking, the RSPCA is 3 mins drive from the village, they would NOT open the door to me as were on their dinner break and closed end of Although sat in front of me eating and drinking their lunch through the glass doors, i shouted at them they ignored me They are in our area complete TRASH.. |

What a horrible mixture of a day. I know you said on FB that it had been up and down, but didn't realise quite how bad it was. It doesn't sound as if you've got much response; maybe it would be worth trying one of the nationals - they often like 'human interest' stories and might want something different from the footie! Poor thing, what a miserable end to what sounds like a miserable existence.
Look forward to photos of your new filly and her gorgeous mum |

Send it to the H & H - they've been blowing the trumpet for the RSPCA over the James Grey affair (although there were questions about why the RSPCA hadn't acted sooner) - perhaps it is time that the other face of the RSPCA is shown publicly. |

Well I'm still sitting here patiently with my phone hoping the RSPCA will contact me!!!!! SOME HOPE!
BUT I have had a visit from the Police - who are also waiting for a call from the RSPCA - omg if they don't respond to the boys(and girls) in blue is there any hope????
Seemingly the owner is 'devastated' yeah where were they the previous 2/3 days when their pony was missing???
Yes I think I should go to the press but I'm a level headed person (most of the time) and need to give them time to respond!!!! How long should I wait - its now been nearly 55hrs!!!! God help any poor horse in distress if it takes them this long to respond to a dead one.
SHAME ON YOU RSPCA AND OWNER FOR NOT CARING FOR THIS POOR SOUL |
