Bracken is an absolute nightmare to get rid of There are sprays (eg asulox) but you need a special licence and they are not kind to the grass.

After many years doing battle with mine, I've found the best solution is to keep cutting it, and overgraze it so it gets well trampled (rolling it also helps). You have to be persistant and keep on top of it, and gradually it grows back less each year. It really is a beast I'm afraid

Good luck !

The last place I was on was full of bracken by the sides of the fields and we tried everything to kill it, the only way was to pull it up its not that bad because it hasnt got a deep root like other weeds.

We have some on the edge of one of our fields. A retired Welsh Farmer who lives near, advised to really hammer it with cutting in July each year. This eventually exhausts the plant.

I echo what others have said. Trample it down as soon as it appears, keep cutting and trampling. The chemicals are not nice and don't always work anyway. You have to put them on at a certain time of year to have maximum effect and can't tell till the following year if it has worked.
