Firstly, I hope this is in the correct forum, sorry if it's not.
It's just a quickie and sorry if it's been asked before, I'm sure it's obvious but just want to check. This is all hypothetical too just considering something for the future.
If someone has a pure bred Arab mare, fully registered with the AHS but she uses a part bred Andalusian stallion which is only registered in the registry IV to cover the mare would the resulting foal be eligiable to be registered with the AHS? If an Andalusian stallion is only registered on the Registry IV he is not graded for breeding so the BHPSH would not issue a covering certificate from the breed society?
I'd guess so. The stallion wouldn't make much difference as they would register as a part bred if the mare is on the breeding register. A friend has a pure bred gelding, but he is registered as a part bred as the sire was not registered to breed and was gelded after anyway!
The AHS will send you a covering certificate on request for your mare (as long as she is reg as breed stock). Just fill in daddys details as well and they will put them on the certificate. Have done it loads of times with no problems.
