I am looking at a lovely mare to buy. Neither I nor the owner know her breeding though and i was hoping someone could help me out.
Her name is Haifaa, her sire is Dormane (FR) FRSB (Manganate (FR) / Mandore (FR)) and her dam is Ima Champ Ku (US) AHSB XVII (SX Champion (US) /Bartika (US))
What is her breeding lineage is she Egyption/Polish/English etc? As we are not sure.
Here is a pic of her, she certainly looks like an old syle desert arab
dont worry i have the permision of the owner to look her up.
Thanks in advance!!

Thank you very much!
It seems like some of her ancestors were Crabbet bred yay :D
I wish i knew how to work it all out as i would like to know her percentage.
The sire information is all in French |

Hi, not sure about the % Crabbet, she is a blend of Crabbet, French old dessert, Polish and dessert I think from Davenport. Lovely mare full of race lines. Did she race??

Hi
thanks!
I wanted a desert old style arabian :D
There is a nice Crabbet stallion in wales i wouldnt mind putting her too (to keep the foal!)
She did race. I think four times. She placed in all of them i think. I did read all the paperwork the owner has including race report things. She won some money.
She is 12 now. And very honest! |

Hi Alphamare,
Haifaa is a very bred Arabian race mare - her sire Dormane won the Group 1 Dubai Stakes in UK and is Worldwide Champion racesire, he is also a sire of sires and has had hundreds of Group 1 winners in UK, USA, Europe and UAE. His daughters are highly sought after. See excerpt from Ascot Arab race sale:
SIRE: DORMANE – Won six races at 3 & 4 yrs inc. Group 1 Dubai Stakes, Coupe Du Cheval Arabe, Prix Ourour from only 8 starts. Own brother to DJAMEL (won Group 1 Zabeel Stakes, sire), MADJEL (won Prix Animex), DJENDEL (Champion sire Qatar). Sire of winners inc. DARIKE (Won French Derby, sire), PASSEM LOTOIS (Won French Derby, sire), CHNDAKA (won National Day Cup UAE, Al Nahyan International Stakes UK, sire), DORMAH DE BRUGERE (won Group 2 – top UK rated juvenile 2003), ARSENE RUPIN (won Group 1 UK Derby, Group 3 Derby Trial, Group 2 UAE Racing Federation International Cup, Group 3 Emirates International Stakes 2005), DJELDOR DE BOZOULS (won Group 1 Zabeel Stakes 2003), NOREEN (won Group 1 Hatta Mares Stakes), NEZ D’OR (won Group 1 Kahayala Classic UAE), UDJIDOR DE BOZOULS (won Group 1 Hatta Mares Stakes 2005), DJOURDAN (won Group 1 UK Derby and Group 1 Dubai Stakes 2003), ANASTAYSA (won Group 1 Abu Dhabi Juvenile International Championship UK 2003), KAOLINO won Group 1 Kahayala Classic UAE. Champion Group race sire 2002-2003 UK.
The dam is by SX Champion who is mainly American Crabbet lines and has sired winners in USA. The dam side traces to racelines of Kontiki which are Polish based.
Haifaa raced 4 times from 2002-03 and was placed 3 times (3rd in her maiden and 4th twice inc. over 9 furlongs at Huntingdon.
Nice mare looks a nice type, the lack of type comes from the French lines which are known for their course heads, stocky bodys and powerful back ends, they tend to be very fast and succesful on the racetrack and in endurance.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.
Paul
