Honeybunch - thanks for the info. Don't suppose you have/know where I can find photos? Pardon my ignorance but who were the Maxwells? I think I've heard of them - were they Crabbet people? Would they have shown him? Is my gelding high %age Crabbet or Old English from Kamarish? Thanks.
Hi not sure about where to get a photo. The Maxwells were prominent breeders from the 60s,onwards. They are still breeding Arabians in FranceTheir daughter is Emma Maxwell. They started with Crabbet/Old English - Kazra (Mikeno - Razehra) who traces to Nuhra, and Indriss (100% Crabbet) by Indian Magic ex Rissalma. The first foal of these two horses was Rissaz, who is the sire of Pandaz. Rissaz was exported to Holland. Pandaz's dam was Pandora (Aswan-Peschinka)- Russian/Eqyptian - may be a bit of Crabbet in there. Pandaz is the sire of Kamarish. Kamarish's dam was Kaliska(Shakhs - Kalilah) so is 50% Eqyptian and 50% Crabbet/Old English. I don't know your gelding's name/dam's name so can only say, Kamarish is around 50% Crabbet .
Hi Honeybunch, Thanks again for the info. My gelding's dam is Focus Shayla. Do you know anything about her? I think she might be American, but not sure. The advert for my horse said he was Egyptian/Spanish, but I don't think this is correct, specially not given Kamarish's breeding.
