Hi Pelle, Thanks again for the info in the post.

All I can tell you is that NEWELLS PANDORA was entered for the ARAB Horse Society Show at Kempton Park in 1962 - 31st.July to 1st.August. I've found her in the Brood Mare Premium class for mares under 14.2hh. Judges Mrs Yeomans & Mr Dinsdale and also in Class 25, Brood Mares 4 y + with foal at foot.(Colt by Blue Domino).

I'm sorry I have not marked the catalogue so I cant tell you where she came or if she was even there. But I can tell you she was bred by Mrs Scarse-Dickens, Newells Farm, Mannings Heath, Horsham, Sussex. Owned and entered on the day by D. R. Elliott, Dellmere, Byfleet Rd, New Haw, Weybridge, Surrey and Pandora was a Chestnut foaled in 1948. sire: RUDAN, dam: FORESTER and was served by BLUE DOMINO. Shown under exhib No. 278, with eight entries in this premium class: Class 'B' for Pony Mares 14.2hh & under. Mrs Elliott was also showing Shy Miss (1950) Exhib 363,in the same class(Interesting mane).

I reckon I was there but never filled in this class results. Mrs Alexander also had a mare that she bred ( not owned)by her and in this class, FORGE ESTHER, just in case Nimlat was there watching and can add or remember anything too.
Newells Pandora, had a chestnut filly in 1959,s.Count Dorsaz. Owned & bred & exhibited on the day by Mrs Elliott.she also had other exhibits. ( and many of the horse exhibited at this time (1962) were by stallions with names starting with COUNT...

Ann Bowditch was also there exhibiting AFIFI stock in the premium class. too, I still see Ann and some of her todays horses when were are out and about Endurancing, even crewed FEI for her horses. When ever I see her I am always quizzing her about horses from the past and she loves it.
Mikeno
Blue Domino
Count Rapello
Nimran
Rushmet
Afifi
Shifari
were all represented here.

At Stud in the Catalogue is SHAZDA,SHAGA BASA, at Crabbet, ORAN, INDIAN MAGIC, SILVER VANITY. & BRIGHT SHADOW. What a time....

Ruddigore (1956) was also entered in the Anglo-Aran stallion class, owner/breeder. Miss M E Croft, Changford,Devon. just for interest.

Hope that helps a bit. Brings back the memories too.
Cheers Sue

Sue
