How lovely, what a great ending (or hopefully beginning) to this story. There is such a happy glint in her eye, she looks like she knows that she's landed on her hooves !

GOSH.....bet she was a "real looker" in her youth and still has those wonderful Arabian paces. Few weeks of Dr Greengrass, TLC and amiable company (...just tell that spoilt Molly to show some respect and companionship to her new friend!!) They are just so funny...how they express jealousy when "Mum" is around
Just love the Golden Oldies....they seem to develop such endearing characteristics in their twilight years and she looks to have a good few years yet, as she seems so sprightly and alert
A big big thankyou Bigmac for all your time, effort and expense in securing a safe and caring home for this old Girlie, for the rest of her days
Keep updating with piccies
Bless you

Oh bless her she looks lovely and happy certainly doesn't seem phased by Molly's grumpy face! I'm sure they'll soon be best of mates, so glad it all worked out in the end. |

Probably being a bit paranoid here - is the mare now your property, and not "on loan" from "the Rescue"? There is no way they could get her back off you when she is looking fit and well, and then "re-home" her for another fat "adoption fee" ? Hope I am just being paranoid ... |

Fleas they are NOT a registered charity but... it does annoy me that just because a rescue is not registered they are bad there are many un registered rescue's out there that do very good work in fact do more than some big REGISTERED ones but the fact is they are not a rescue they buy and sell these horses they openly get peole to buy for them from sales then it says they will refund the buyer the money they spent and then sell the horse on bigmac has told me that she has a sales receipt NOT an adoption form ( WHICH IS WHAT YOU WOULD SIGN IF YOU ADOPTED FROM ME )
horses cats dogs rabbits that i rehome are ALWAYS the rescue's people only adopt from from me and any animal would HAVE to be returned if the adoptee could at any point not be able to keep said animal

Very worrying that there seems to be a new trend in setting up these types of websites, ive looked at several over the last few months, it all originates from the first French Rescue website it appears, members went there own ways & set up there own & now they seem to have gone over to "rescuing" Irish horses! As if we don't have enough needy horses in the UK without adding more!!
Glad you've got her home safe & well BigMac & well done for taking her on! |

The little lady is doing very well, she's enjoyed another day out in the sunshine, had a groom today she's a bit nervous certainly doesn't like fast movements around her but she'll do anything for a carrot, knows "tea time" already and is waiting at the gate when i get there, i open the gate and she takes herself into her stable, she's keen to get out in the morning and doesn't like to wait, Molly my other little grey mare holds her leg up to ask for a carrot, i gave her some carrots this morning then turned to take some to "Laguna" and she too was holding her leg up, she did it then every time i went in the feed shed, was so funny seeing them both standing looking at me both holding a leg up so not only do they look the same they also know the same tricks!! |

Lovely to see a happy ending...even with abit of stress thrown into it !! If you have a registered charity aren't there any financial perks ?? Tax relief etc on sundry items ?? |

yes delyth there are certain perks like being able to claim tax aid if some one donates you can claim tax/gift aid but there are many things against too theres a lot of paper work and believe me there is enough even without being registered you can be voted off your own rescue too ! if you have a commitee that suddenly decides they want to go down different routes then they can vote you out and after spending years and lots of my own money not something i want to think about for me personaly i dont want to become to big that i lose the hands on and personal touch to the rescue but more funds could mean a few more helped

Fantastic job rescuing this girlie, she looked very smug in the last pic!! I'm sure you would have mentioned it and I have been speed reading this to see what happened, but I don't suppose she has a scabby looking freezemark under the mane? It's just my old Arab mare is the same age and I was trying to trace her for 2 years but drew blanks thinking she must be dead. Her papers never got passed on as woman I sold her to still has them so she might not have had a passport. The freezemark said A8E8 but you couldnt read it that well, just looked like bald bits!! Sorry if I've misread anything! |

No freezemark under the mane!! Had the dentist today, she didn't like that idea very much, a very wise old girl, wasn't having that gag in, the dentist did manage to have a good feel though and she said there was nothing too horrendous in there so ok to let her get some weight on and a bit more strength before having her sedated to do them properly!! She manages her food fine, isn't dropping any and having no problems with the haylage so didn't suspect anything too bad going on in there. She loves her food and is now enjoying a groom, she seems to be trusting me much more and is happy now for me to touch her face (which was a definate no go area) so all going well |
