They are really well, thanks Babs. It is snowing today and we got them out early for their run about. I will post some more pics but please don't suggest they go on any magazine or anything they will be cute pics that's all. I want to forget the past and move on.
I might let them out in the barn later today and will let you see how they are joined at the hip, or stifle! Syd follows us up to the sand school, does his hop, skip and a jump. Ingrid race's around the school and unfortunately Syd gets bowled over. He must be black and blue under his woolie coat!! He is learning to escape out of the school and has even been running up and down outside while she runs inside.
Certainly keeping us busy. |

Thanks so much Sue....poor little Syd...bet he thinks Ingrid is a bit of a nutter....at least he has the sense to escape, when she is having a whizz round.
Have you got her drinking milk from a bucket yet? Very tiring rearing an orphan but sure you get lots of smiles with the antics
So pleased all is going well

We have a heated bucket on loan from a very kind person.Should be fitted ready for this weekend. We are very organised people and our system here works well. I thank you for all your tips again Babs.
Now for some pics, (you did ask!) taken today, snowing hard and quite cold. Studying her dads pedigree.
Think there should be some green stuff somewhere!
Monty looking at Syd. Can you see the snow! (excuse scuffy Monty!)
Click on pic to see better.
Not sure about this concrete!
We cut a talk grill for nextdoor to look in. She is a kind mare called Bint El Kahira, she loves the foal too.
They found the haylege.

Yes, that Mohican has to come off I'm afraid. He has visitors next week and I can't leave it any longer
I must say he finds it irritating when I put his headcollar or bridle on, the headpiece pulls on his new hair growth. He does not like it all. His mane is like silk and very fine so he is a very sensitive chap. |

Sue those pictures have thoroughly cheered me up as so tired and cold today. They could be our weekly tonic every time you have the energy to take some and post them here for us. Thank you.
I could look at that beautiful little girl and her long legs all day bless her. Monty and Syd look pretty good too !

Nissibay what a great idea a calender would be, and not too expensive to make. I am sure many of us on Arabian Lines would love to buy one and monies made could go to a good cause? and what cute and lovely subjects they would make.

Ingrid and Syd are now super stars!! I have been contacted to do a short article about them both in an overseas magazine, I have to supply some more photos of them playing together in the field or school. So when done, I'll post them on here too.
Once this dreadful weather changes, sleet and snow today, I will get some naked ones of Ingrid for you and ones of them in the field together. It is so cold today I am reluctant to take her rug off at the moment, we have a bitingly cold wind here. She is quite fat and bonny, she is eating up her foal creep and munchies hay like the big mare next door. It's funny to watch her she is trying to behave adult like and does all these things on her own. Eating grass is the latest game at the moment, she follows Syd and copies him.
Yes, she does jump up and down like a lamb, we had visitors this weekend and they watched open mouthed as Ingrid raced up and down the school and missed Syd by inches! She does it on purpose and he just thinks she is mum and being knocked about is quite normal!! Don't call the battered baby help line please, he is learning to dive out the way now.
We are very busy right now hence my lack of posts. But we will do the photos as soon as the weather allows.
I meant to add her automatic milker has been fitted and warm milk flows day and night. Our biggest thanks to Sally who we will never forget her kindness for letting us loan her Ewe 2 milker unit. What a god send. My brain is fuzzy best of times but recently I had become one of the walking dead |
