also, today one of my clients (who is a multi millionaire nightclub owner) has seen her pic and is willing to do a fundraiser for her because he once had a donkey) Let's hope we can sort this mare out forever, and wherever she spends her days, she has us all to fall back on |

I agree with Jackie, I think a vet is very important at this early stage of her Rehab.
Teeth etc , no point feeding her good food if its not being used properly. And who knows how long she has been that thin, so blood tests need to be taken to ensure no organ damage..... Just so everyone know what they are dealing with.
I bought a very old VERY thin mare back to full health..She was as bad as the beautiful Paris.. So it can be done, gently, but I had lots of support from my vet, and others.....and the day she arrived with me she saw the vet.
Im very happy for this gorgeous girl, These old Arab's are trasure's and should not see their senior years in this state...
I would happily have offered for her to spend her days her with me, and my 27 year old, if I had seen the thread sooner...
Everything crossed that she is well inside and can soon enjoy life again |

Can I ask where this mare will live if she goes down south? Who will pay the not inconsiderable bills that come with oldies? or will the begging bowl be constantly out and waved under the noses of genuine people? I remember a appeal last year for a barbed wire injury to Smilers own mare....there were concerns raised then and I got a lot of stick, not that it ever bothered me.....I just hate to see people who are so willing to help being ripped off. Paris is better off where she is. Im not hiding behind a wall either.......simply concerned that Paris gets a loving home where she can be provided for adequately/ |

I don't like how this is going. I have let this proceed and even helped when we were contacted by two members who wanted to rescue this mare. Both seemed genuinely concerned about the mare and everything seemed to go well, and that was the reason the thread went offline and then came online again, after the mare seemed to be safe. I am stopping this here and now. If there is anything I should know that I am missing, please let me know by PM. This topic is now closed. |
