| From the info given by the owner this morning I believe the mare is not far from Brecon at a riding stables. She also mentioned another elderly arab at the same place. The mare is stabled, but she isn't paying much livery so I fear she is still being used in the school. (my speculation only) I am trying to contact the owner again as she may be open to doing the right thing here. I dont think the mare should be bought, but if she will permanent loan, or sign her over I will try to help. |

Near Brecon.
Have tried the ILPH (now World Horse Welfare) but only an answer phone. I have tracked down the local RSPCA contact so I'll let you know when I've spoken to him.
I am hoping to speak to the owner again later. |

| Quarabian - try Jenny Macgregor or HAPPA, they're both near Monmouth, so not too far from Brecon. HAPPA's 'phone no is 01291 689371, Jenny's is in my previous post. I'm sure they'll both be interested. |

I will still chase up welfare for the riding school ponies.

I haven't seen the advert, but if I can help (I am an equine vet), I will, I live west of Brecon. Unfortunately I am on call from now until Monday night but if she is on Sennybridge side, I could get up there.If anyone knows anything that I can usefully do please PM me.

The owner emailed me today and said she was taking the ad off. She is also very displeased that she was misled by the YO re the mare's age! Try again with WHW.I'm sure they will resond.
I have told the owner that I am concerned about Paris and would like to know what happens to her. Fingers xxxxxd |

this is getting stranger, 26 then 20. someone must know a riding school near brecon with karen as the owner . apparently there are more arabs there. i hope they are all in better condition

Unfortunately as this is a working farm under severe weather difficulties I am not in the house much to answer the return calls from WHW and HAPPA. Can anyone help to co ordinate. Please pm me if you can. |

hmmm i think i know of the place you are all on about, that has a karen as an owner
she also has some stallions, and other mares. some were advertised before but they did look in good condition. i do have some of the horses details. she did say she was overstocked. i've been trying to arrange a visit as i wanted to see her stallions, one in particular, but she never got back to via e-mail.
anyone fancy a ride at a riding school? |

well the dates are right, she is a living legend and should be treated as such , she should live out the last of her days in peace being loved and cared for, I seriously think someone should tell the owner , no one will buy a horse of this age unless it goes for meat and from what I can gather she has no meat value either ! poor little mite , how can we call ourselves humane when we allow our old horses to be treated this way , no dignity or respect, how sad |

It is a shame that these old horses should end up the way they do.
I hope that someone can find her and give her the forever home she deserves.
