Is there any short-legged people out there that may be able to help me. I'm trying to find a new long paiir of boots something like the Ariat Grasmere or similar, but there all to long in the leg. Is there anyone else whose had this problem and come up with an answer. I was thinking some sort of paddock boot and half leather/suede chaps as an alternative, but cant find a pair with the length/calf measurement thats correct. I've driven the assistant in Derby House to the point of distraction this afternoon,I think

I bought some toggi Calgary from DH last week and have to say i think they are a little shorter in the leg than other makes (although beware the dye runs in them when wet). |

Hi
I have the same problem... my lower leg is quite short but thin... I find mostly the shorter boots are wide legged and just dont fit...
What size are you? I usually take a 6 in a shoe, but in riding boots I generally can get a 5. In most makes, the size 5 has a shorter leg!
I have had the Toggi Calgary, and have just bought the new Toggi Canyon boots - both made in chocolate and black but not polished leather... these are very good fit
I also have the Ariat Bromont tall boot - part polished leather/part suede (sp?) I have put a wedge instep underneith the sole lining in the boot to help raise my foot a little as these are quite tight under the back of my knee... they will drop once I have worn them more
Failing that depending on budget, the Dubarry Claire boot is a lower leg with slim calf...(though way above my budget at £275)
But I also have the Ariat paddock boots with Gaiters which come in various leg lengths and widths... may be your last option!
And if its any consilation, I too have driven all my local tack shops nuts!!
Hope that gives you something to go on.... Happy Shopping! |

Tina, I am sure Robinsons used to do boots like that, short leg, wide leg, etc etc not just your bog standard size boot. Have you looked on their website it was a while ago so they may not do them anymore.

I have short legs too and it took me ages to find a pair of leather show boots that fitted. I know you aren't after show boots particularly but I eventually got mine from Regent. They do a wide range of styles and sizes/lengths and they have a similar one to the Ariat so it may be worth a look. |

Thank you everyone for your suggestions, will trawl the tack shops and try your recommendations. Good excuse to do some horsey-based shopping |
