Many thanks Karen, will do. I think I will need to find a cremello stallion though from what the experts say, to produce my own palomino! I suspect there may not be so many cremello's will a high % of arab blood though?

Karen d
I know who you mean & Lisa`s "Xavier" is the sire of abz97`s cremello colt !
Jayne , Abz`s colt is just under 65% Arab so with a pure bred mare u`d get a foal with almost 83% Arab blood!

Im jumping in on this thread now too as ive been trying to breed a palomino foal from my pure bred bay mare for 2 years running but she wont take AI. So this year she will be going to visit the stallion for a natural covering so fingers crossed.

the stallion im using is 'legend alpine mist' who is 54% arab and very pretty. I would have used Abbies boy but as i had already paid the stud fee 2 years ago for legend alpine mist im sending her to him for my free return and hoping that it will be 3rd time lucky!

Although i will definitly be interested in using abbies boy in the future and as he is close by to me it makes it all the better.

Sarah Wilkinson has some beautiful palomino youngstock for sale at the moment if you decided to buy a foal rather than breed your own. I think hers are all about 80% arab and she has colts and fillies.

Best of luck
HOLLY

Thanks very much! You guys truely are a mind of useful information and I'm very grateful.

I'm going to enjoy looking at these stallions or indeed perhaps even a cremello mare to buy as I could then use my friends stallion (who is liver chestnut) and dad to my mare. His temperament is superb and as this is my one big priority could be another option for me.

I have just found a stallion that I think could be the right one for my mare. He is at Pioneer Stud and is 75.5% arab. His arab side is mostly Crabbet, which is exactly what I'm looking for! This would give me an 87.75% arabian palomino.

Has anyone seen this lad in the flesh? He is called Silver Sheikh and looks really kind.

Sarah doesnt have a website at the moment but she owns the Sameon Stud in Hampshire. There is a colt for sale called Sameon Crystal Panther and if you google his name his details and photos come up. I think she is advertising 3 of them on Preloved but you would need to look through all the arab/palomino adverts. I will pm you her email address later tonight. x
