I have finally got the proof for all those naive people who thought Hamied was buying their fillies and mares for his own stud in Kuwait that he is indeed A DEALER!!
I am sure most of you remember my topic about my mare PAS Shabina, the filly I bred, who was sold by her owners to the 'lovely' Hamied. She was sold within weeks of being shipped to Kuwait in January, it has taken nearly 11 months to find her!
I have spoken with her new owner, who seems to be a very nice man, he bought her in February from a 'Kuwaiti businessman' and seems to be very glad that he now has contact with her breeder. Not as glad as I am that I have found her! My mare PAS Shabina is safe, well and 8 months pregnant.
NOW TELL ME HAMIED ISN'T A DEALER !!!!
I have to say a big THANK YOU to Karen, without your help I might never have found Storm (PAS Shabina), you have been there for me from the start, never once bottled it when the going got tough, I owe you big time mate
I also have to say thank you to Ismail for giving me the new owners contact details and Salman for trying his best to find Storm for me, you were both so very kind.
Mandy x

So glad you have tracked down Storm and that she appears to be settled into motherdom. It must be so hard to let go of the horses you breed in the first place, and to give up that sense of responsibility even when they aren't yours anymore.

So So pleased that Storm has been found, finally.
Youre more than welcome, mandy, you would have done exactly the same for me
So from going to a new stud, with airconditioned, ceramic tiled stables, these poor mares were bought, shipped to kuwait then auctioned off to the highest bidder. EXACTLY what we said was going on all along!!!!!
Now the worrying thing is what has happened to the rest of them, we have only found one mare out of god knows how many were shipped.
One word of warning to everyone interested, this man is still operating in the UK. Same story, looking to buy mares for his new stud in kuwait, wants them to introduce new bloodlines and is offering £2000 per horse!!!! This is a FACT as he has been trying to buy my horses for the last 4 days!!!!!
BE WARNED

That is most excellent news Mandy, finally you have the answers!!! I wonder if those that have sold horses to him before and vehemently defended him have any conscious at all...... |

Excellent news must be a relief to know your mare is well and happy. Lets hope at least some of the others found decent homes too. |

I hope for the sake of the other mares that they did find good homes..... We are not finished trying to trace some of the others.
The gentleman that now owns Storm is very nice, he was here 2000-2005 doing a Phd in Computers, I am going to send him some more photo's of Storm and will ask him more about how he aquired Storm. She is due to foal in February, as her breeder I am really looking forward to see what she produces, will have to ask who he used to sire the foal. Thanks again to all those that believed in me and Karen sending emails & PM's of support when we first started out on this journey xxx |

Don't worry....Karen and I are still looking for some of the others, well the ones we know were on the same shipment as Storm and a couple of others that were on a seperate shipment.
I don't bare grudges against anyone who stuck up for this man, some people are VERY convincing especially dealers! So on that note, if anyone who sold to him believing that their filly/mare was going to be part of his 'new stud' would now like some help trying to find out exactly where their filly or mare has ended up Karen and I will try our best to help you find them, we can't promise anything but we are willing to try.

Well done Mandy and Karen. I'm so glad you've been able to track Storm down and hope you manage to keep in contact with her.
Sorry, I'm still puzzled though - what is Hamied getting out of doing this?? He buys English horses (presumably not just Arabs?) for £2000 - I remember reading somewhere that owners were offered this sum for sick/lame horses who weren't worth that much - and then ships them to Kuwait... How much can that cost? Then he sells them at an auction.... How on earth can he get £2000 back (not to mention transportation fees) for a lame horse sold at auction? Why buy lame horses in the first place? Or really, why buy British horses for £2000, add on the cost of transportation and then risk losing all of that in an auction? I really don't understand it.

Hi Lauren,
There are still many un-answered questions that I am hoping Storm's nice new owner will answer for me, one being how much did he pay the 'kuwaiti businessman' for her and what was the businessmans name? His answers may give us a better insight as to why a dealer would pay £2000 plus shipping (approx £3000) to get female arabs out of the UK and into Kuwait.
So far PAS Shabina was bought by Hamied, had export papers applied for AFTER she got to Kuwait by another kuwaiti man and is now owned by a different kuwaiti gentleman!! So to find out the name of her seller would help me to know how many people she passed through in the short time between January and February, January 2009 being when she was shipped and February 2009 being when her current owner bought her.
Thank you all for you kind words, PM's and emails, I am just so pleased that Storm seems to have ended up in a good home, it so easily could have turned out not to be the case from some of the awful pictures I have seen |

The saying "If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is" springs to mind here....
So glad you have found your mare and that she is in a good home.
I must say that if I ever had to sell one of my horses (only over my dead body ) and I just heard a rumour about a particular buyer, that would be enough to put me off in the first place. I just wouldn't take the chance. I guess with some people, money is all that matters |

The lovely Ismail, who so kindly gave me Storms new owners details has just emailed me saying he is very sad at what has happened, so much so that he is going to travel to see Storm and take a video of her so I can see that she really is alive and well!
Just goes to prove that there are some very nice Kuwaiti people who are as shocked as we are at the behaviour of some of their fellow countrymen!! |

Just as some of us in the UK are shocked and ashamed of the unscrupulous behaviour of some of our fellow countrymen.

Well done for persevering, and if I remember also getting a lot of stick from some people. Do the women know the situation?? If so, then I feel like Jean. |

Yes the women who are buying for hamied, know exactly what they are doing
and yes we did indeed get alot of stick for trying to find out the truth, we were called all sorts of names including being accused of being racist
Mandy has been in turmoil for the past 12 months wondering where storm ended up, and i am so pleased that we have found out that she is one of the lucky ones and has ended up in safe hands
Not so sure of the other mares fate though, and it is STILL going on |

This was sent to me by her new owner yesterday, not sure when it was taken.
This was also sent by her new owner yesterday, again not sure when it was taken.
This was taken in February this year.
This was taken in January when she arrived in Kuwait
This was taken in the summer of 2008
