Does anyone know anything ie temperaments, popular uses or history etc surrounding the breeding of part breds with the "Sulan" prefix, am sure have heard this name before a few times so thought would ask!
Many thanks, Sarah

Hi - Can put you in touch with Sue if you like, or on here she is known as 'Cat Queen'. Sue and Alan's horses are 'doers' generally speaking and between them they have done everything! She also had the lovely Forge Gay Gordon who features in many of their partbreds |

There's Sulan African Aristocrat (1984) Chestnut gelding, who's done really well in endurance riding since 1992, and looking at the results from this year, he's still going strong at 25 years young! Sulan African Super Star (1991)Bay gelding, appears to have done a fair bit of endurance too. His best result on the archive is 125km at Golden Horseshoe.

Yes......know Sue well The Sulan prefix PBA`s are all performance bred and are out there doing it all. Very much admired Forge Gay Gorden....out under saddle regularly and lovely easy going temperament...

Hi, I have a 5yr old part bred arab from Sue and Alan, He's called Sulan Ellectronic. I got him when he was 2yrs. He is the perfect gentleman, good manners, friendly with people and other horses. Always in the ribbons. He was a star to break in and now hacks out with confidence alone or in company, which is excellent for his age.
Here he is age 3yrs..
now age 5yrs..

The chestnut in my sig pics was Sulan African Wizard (aka Deenar)- my best friend of 18 yrs. I had him off Sue and Alan when he was a foal and we were inseperable until I lost him suddenly to colic last year. He was by far the best horse I have ever owned, gentle, loyal and inreplaceable. I will miss him forever.
Still friends with Sue and Alan, have lots of respect for them and always always ask their help and opinion if I need it. |

I've had several Sulan horses over the years, all have had lovely manners and excellent temperaments. It was 18 years ago bought my first purebred, Sulan African Rainbow as a 6 month old colt from Sue and Alan, a wonderful horse I can never replace, also bought my daughters first pony and her current pony a lovely palomino section b mare amongst others we've had from Sue and Alan I currently have Sulan Snow Queen an 8 year old mare who has had a couple of foals and recently been backed and is ridden out by my 12 year old daughter, she is a sweetheart. There are currently 6 horses on our yard with the Sulan prefix, my mare, a yearling filly Sulan Bedazzled, 2 year old filly Sulan Seeing Double, a coloured partbred foal Sulan Blue Moon, Sulan Red October 6 year old partbred and an 18 year old partbred Sulan Royale. All are nice horses to know, beautiful to look at, easy to deal with and the ridden horses are sane rides with fabulous paces. The two partbreds have the most impressive extended trot! |
