A little while back I asked everyone the best way of dealing with Gretel's seperation anxiety and the majority suggested a companion... so let me introduce Morph (Hillash Morpheous)Gretel's new baby. He a Shetland yearling gelding with lots of personality and is well handled and will be joining us in a couple of weeks. He is a mini version of Gretel. Fingers crossed Gretel and Dulciya love him as much as I do
and in his winter clothes!
He is very similar to Gretel!

Love the winter woolies
We have a little mini-shetland in the field next door to us called Tubbs. He's 38 and was my friend's first pony. He still manages to be the first one through the gate at tea-time and keeps the bigger horses in line by going to bite them just behind knee, he doesn't get them but it still makes their knees buckle

I think you are right, he could be 'entertaining'! I think he is already doing an impression of an arab in his winter woolies photo! I decided he needed a bit of character to cope with living with my two girls |

absolutlutely gorgeous. i want one for company at weaning etc but my daughter says no, due to their need for restricted diet (laminitis)they would be no use if they need to be stabled or in starvation paddocks. have to admit i haven't been able to argue that one successfully, as we have plenty of grazing in winter and loads in summer. how do all you others with mini minders get round that one. sally. |

Wow you have a Norweigan Fjord they are my most favourite breed in the world but doubt I will ever be able to own one your mini is really cute and so cuddly in those winter woolies |
My horse is my very best friend. Nothing in the world can separate us. When he dies I know he'll be waiting for me at the gate... just like always.

The winter photo makes me giggle everytime I see it, I can't wait to see him and Gretel all hairy in the winter! Actually Dulcie loves playing and Gretel doesn't so I think Morph is going to give Dulcie a good run for her money - she loves any excuse to playing racing in the field |

Sooo cute - especially the hairy pic!!
Hope Gretel and Dulciya adore him - The people who live further along the bridleway that we're on recently got a mini shetland youngster and Taz is terrified whenever he comes rushing over to say hello when we ride past . Absolute wimp!!!

You have to see this one as a baby! When I visited the stud the foals were so adorable and very friendly they followed me around the field and sat on my lap!

I can vouch for the fact that one becomes two becomes.....
I got a shetland to keep Dennis company, his face was an absolute picture the first time he saw her. He didn't know if he should say hello or leg it!!! Then, imagine my surprise when I got another one a couple of years later (as a companion to the first one) when his reaction was the same - he didn't know they came in different colours!!! It was so funny.
So be prepared for your horse's funny reaction to when they first meet Morph!! Have a camera ready..... |
