Had a devastating day at work today - managed to loose the diamond out of my engagement ring!! Haven't told hubby yet as he's at the pub
Didn't look very professional with me in tears on my hands and knees looking for it! Must say though, passengers coming through my lane in security were great, they all helped me look but we couldn't find it
Now trying to decide if I'm going to claim on the home insurance - have to pay the first £100, so it depends on what they value my ring at. Had a quick butchers on h samuel website and similar cut rings are going for £450 - £650 depending on clarity. I don't have the receipt for mine, but know hubby paid over £400 for it.

Oh that's awful - I was sat plaing with mine one night and mine came out in my hand. I was sooooo grateful, if I'd have lost it outside I'd would've been gutted. Hope your hubby understood !! |

Hubby very understanding - says I can get a new one, what ever I like!! That's brave as I have an eye for expensive things!
My household insurance will pay out for the loss, but looks like they will replace the diamond only. Have o wait for their jewellery specialists (sigma/sygma)to call me in the next few days to find out what they will do - excess is £100 so it depends on what they value to lost diamond at as to it being worth claiming for or not. Thankfully I have the IGI certificate so can prove the carat, clarity and cut. |
