oh dear...... you might still be arguing over it at the next nniversary dinner!! I'd have said the veiny side - they put drips into the 'back of your hand' don't they? And which way do hands face in tradtional anitomical diagrams? is that relevant - I dunno!!! |

I'm with Mrs Vlacq on this. Think back hand in tennis. If it's your palm, then what's the other side called? |

I'd say the veiny side is the back. When the Consultants have to mark anything on the pre-printed pictures of bodies then the bodies are drawn with the palm side showing.

lol M Robson, BUT if you're holding something - it's IN your hand, sooooo you can't have something IN the back (can you?) also that side of your hand is called the palm so what's the other side called?....the BACK
Now I really must go and get a life.... |

Well I would say, the palm is the palm, the back is the other side... as why would you call your palm a palm if it is the back??... xx |

Ha ha I'm glad we're not the only ones... it sounds like some of our discussions! That said, we certainly don't take it on into the bedroom... hopefully you don't either!
I'm with the consensus, I think; back is definitely not the palm! typical that mostly men should think differently, though. |

I'm not only puzzled by the question, but also why I read it to the end. Here are a few other anatomical questions for you all to ponder.
Why is your bottom half way up your body? Is that where it meets the top?
How can your (OHs) feet smell when they haven't got a nose? Aren't feet the bits at the bottom?
And do mice have four legs. like our precious horses, or do they have arms and legs, cos when they sit on their bottoms and wash their ears or nibble on a piece of corn they look tike little arms with tiny hands to me.
Help!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Actually, I DID have a few encounters with the back of my mum's hand... and it definitely wasn't the palm side.
Not only me; there was a very ill-advised shopkeeper who did too; he caller her a 'fat cow'...
very silly man.
And, having cast nasturtiums against my dear mother, she was a lovely, brilliant woman (if a little on the large size) who didn't deserve the shopkeeper - or me as a teenager! |
