Yes and yes!
I also know someone who used them as fly sheets on her thin skinned TB mare and it works a treat. She has a SUPER shiny chestnut coat. |

can't comment on the Dustbuster but Kye - if you feel like pushing the boat out (and don't have hedges/barbed wire) a Boett is fab! They polish to coat as well as keeping the biddies at bay, and aren't too heavy if they get wet, and dry out easily too. PLUS they are local too - only up the road! I have just dug out Fred's Boett - must be over 12yrs old now and put it on a gelding who reacts to horse flies - its doing a great job. They go on over the head so kiddie may need a stool to stand on! But unlike stretchy/vlecro ones they last if you manage them right |

I can vouch for the Boett. They are expensive but in my opinion worth the money and along with the Snuggy Hood are the only things i've found really work for Sweet-itch.
A friend recommended the De meulenkamp rug to me which is very similar to the Boett for a fraction of the price. http://www.traleeequestriancentre.com/de_meulenkamp.htm but i haven't tried one of these myself. (Although i am considering...) This site is a british one and a bit cheaper than the one above http://www.solva-icelandics.co.uk/sweet1.htm
You do have to wash them fairly regularly though (any of the above) They keep the coat very clean and polished, but the dirt has to go somewhere and it sort of im-beds itself in the rug, which you just need to wash at least once a fortnight. (I wash mine in one of those wash bags you can get for horse rugs. They are great and keep all of the hairs out of the washing machine) |

I talked to Becci about the Boett yesterday, i really wanted to know what they were like. I've been through so many fly rugs, i will give it a try then. Will also look at the alteratives.
Thanks xx
Its like midge hell here, i have so many trees, i am practically spitting them out. |

give them a buzz - I'm sure one of the girls would come out and help you fit it as you're so near - Jenny (the boss) might be over in France now, but the girls in the office are lovely |
