I have 'Darmouna' by Sheikh Marmoud (Ibn Mowaffac x Suleima) out of Dancing Darjeela (Radfan x Bint Ludoet). |

Hi Clare,
I'm so sorry to hear that your Mum lost Lyana, she was a lovely mare.
I have a few relations of Lyana's, as you can see from my original post, but I don't know of any offspring of Lyana, or any relations for sale. Will be happy to help with your search though as I am in touch with Lyana's breeders. |

Thanks Carla that is really kind. I know she has a full brother Taz who is owned by a lady who has contacted me on here but would love any help. I also believe that her mother died when she was 15, same age as Lyana was and wondered if it was from same thing - laminitus. Yes, Lyana was a lovely mare and still can't believe she has gone. Worse day of my life. Diagnosed laminitus 16 Dec 08 and full pedal bone rotation in both fronts by 06 March. No idea of laminitus cause, tested for everyhting. Vet said never seen a case so rapid and aggressive before with no underlying cause detected. However, no more pain and it is only because we loved her so much that we did what we had to do. I know laminitus is supposed to not be hereditary but you never really know. Thanks for your thoughts. Clare x |
