Debbie,
He is wonderful! Well done you! You must be over the moon with one that looks as good as he does! Is he as sweet as he looks-as his pedigree promises?
Hi Alexia!
No 'magic'...just long talks with vets who specialize in breeding issues-coming along for the last 22 years boarding my best broodmares at a breeding facility. For example one of the most interesting things I've recently learned is the effectiveness of aspirin in breeding difficult mares...i.e., with age they don't hold the pregnancy well....Mixing aspirin daily in the feed several months before cover seems to hugely increase the chance of conception!
Hi Lynda,
Can't wait to see the pictures! Is that a straight Spanish colt? Sasaki is such a beautiful stallion and his influence huge. Having one of his colts would be awesome! Can't wait to see your pictures and also hear about your trip to Toskhara!

Hi Bob Yes Sasaki is doing really well but does suffer badly with his legs, Paula keeps him comfortable and he is one happy boy. his eyes can melt any heart and he has the look of eagles when he looks across the pastures as though looking back in time across the centuries to when his ancestors roamed the desert. thats what sets the Arabian apart from all other breeds, they are still wild at heart. (sentimentle ole me) Gari I wont be bringing the colt home, but I sure hope he finds a good home with someone who knows the value of this blood! I saw a picture of "a Fancy Miricle"as a foal, the Saski daughter who was later to become the mother of Magnum Pysche and the grandmother of WH Justice, in this line it is easy to see where the long curvy neck, and extreme beauty is coming from sasaki has to go down in history as one of the great's and I for one shall mourn his passing. my hope is that the foal within my mares belly by WH Justice, will carry that Sasaki blood forward with great expectations for the future of the breed. |

Hey Bob, thats got to be a must for you the mare in foal to Justice is the third one in my signiture pictures, she is by OM EL Shaheen out of a WSA Charismma Daughter Shantu Sequal, so I have a good combination of blood there, being double Carmargue/ double El Shaklan, then the outcross of WH Justice blood. I have long wanted to combine these lines and maybe Gari will be able to predict the outcome??? |

Hi Gari Thanks for your reply. He is our first 'baby' and it has been so much fun just watching him grow!
Yes ,you were spot on when you said “can only imagine that your boy is going to have an incredible personality plus a lot of sweetness” He’s not as cuddly as others say their ‘babies’ have been, he doesn’t like people ‘in his face’ Unless he is hurt or unwell, then he just wraps himself around me and hugs! He is both independent and affectionate….a bit like my sons!! You also said “Indian Magic was a unique horse as well. So very beautiful and very sweet with those he loved-Fred Rice was his best pal, he did not suffer fools gladly and had distinct likes and dislikes. Whilst Bright Shadow is such a steadying influence, do take notice of who handles your boy for you as he really needs a pal with whom to work...not someone who would be yanking him around.”
That is also true of Magic!!! So far you've been very accurate.......I don't suppose you know how big he will get????

It is going to be an awesome cross, Lynda...no question. You've a chance of a little longer body BUT with the multiples of Naziri shared by both Justice and Shantu Sequel, think the result has to be spectacular. Shantu Sequel is a Jilfan which is a line about which I know little. Suffice to say with the wonderful Spanish blood, you know the result will be shorter backed, a tad more compact but with Justice being a Seglawi I would expect real glamour.
Shaheen and Shahmaan are full brothers.
Deboniks,
Thank you for the feed back! I suspect that your boy will be finishing around 15h 3" and he will not achieve complete growth til he is 7. The closer to pure Crabbet, the longer time in which to grow! |

Thank you 15.3 would be fine!
"The closer to pure Crabbet, the longer time in which to grow!"
Why is this, compared to other bloodlines?

Am guessing but I think it is because the blood contains a lot of Abbas Pasha blood and that came in large measure from deep in the Nejd. For some reason that blood historically takes a long time to mature, for the bones to close, and the horse's face to dry out. Additionally the very high quality Skowronek lines also tend to retard the development speed. And again, it is rumored that there is an excellent chance that the Ibrahim sire line traces back to Ali Pasha Sherif/Abbas Pasha. That would explain A LOT! |

Thanks so much Gari - fascinating stuff. She's definitely a big powerful mare - measures 15.2hh. I haven't been able to bring her home with me (waiting for her current foal to be weaned) since I bought her a few months ago so have yet to discover her personality but if she's anything like her brother Gedenski she will certainly be extremely intelligent. As a youngster though he was by all reports very difficult - and even now can have his 'moments' though is very mellow most of the time - but I've been told that challenging nature probably comes from his sire line (by the Grojec son Omarele). Is it true that Grojec descendants can be difficult? As much as I love Ged I'd like whatever I breed to be a bit more easy going. |

Hi Angela,
I've honestly never heard anything against Grojec in terms of temperament. More often very intelligent horses are not about to put up with being manhandled and will respond accordingly.
Conversely horses carrying Bright Shadow and Fejr blood are renowned for incredible sweetness. If temperament is a concern-the *Carmargue bloodlines reliably pass wonderful temperaments and Camargue Too should be added to your list as he carries the Ferida dam line and a bay component, too.
Lynda,
Don't think you have any worries in re great and very competitive beauty... |

Sire line Nazeer via some of the most beautiful Nazeer descendants of Ansata Ibn Halima, Imperial Imdal, et. al., anywhere....with the dam line a Wadnan Khirsniah via the beautiful, Zehraa, Princess Muna winner I believe and progenitor of National Champions like Riazana, Kuraishi, Kahramana, Mehzeer (one of the most beautiful stallions ever),and Maleik El Kheil to name a few...your filly's bred to be a winner and to produce them!
Bred to your colt Calimeer who is a Hamdani Simri, who are usually blessed with that quality that is hard to define but always suggests a stallion of unparalled special something that is hard to define. This is a youngster that will gradually become more and more beautiful and more elegant as time goes by...
I honestly am not certain of the outcome but can only imagine that you will have something absolutely spectacular with that cross and pioneer new ground with this particular blend of lines. The only glitch might be slow maturation as you so often get with the Polish and old Crabbet lines.
Would love to see pictures of both youngsters. |
