I've been trawling the internet for veteran horse insurance for my 18yr old gelding, which covers vets fees for illness in addition to injury... i'm having no luck!
Does anyone know of an insurance company that offer this?
Try scottish equestrian, they are a quarter price of anywhere else, always pay out very quick and even with mine that tied up and choke case never was any exclusion added, they really are good and if they will do it id say its money well spent
I am with NFU and have been for a while, i think that is why i still have full cover for my 18 year old otherwise it would be just 3rd party and accident, not illness vets fees.
I am sure someone would do it but i am sure they would put the premium up a lot. Good luck louise
I use carriagehouse insurance, I'm not sure but I think they continue normal cover up until 20yrs old. Although I don't know how much it would be. It is ridiculous that in this day and age a 18yr old should be considered too high an insurance risk, most horses barring accident or illness work into their 20's nowadays.
