Hi Judith, Only the one you sent me about a week ago. Hi Ella, Thanks for the info. I know you can get simular gear in the UK but I knew exactly what I wanted and and couldn't find it here. |

No, not urgent. My policy includes western riding which surely should encompass riding in a bosal/hackamore, but would still be interested to read a specefic authorisation document. Thanks. |

Hi Ella, I'm glad you asked about it because it's taken me ages to find it!! Better put it in 'another' safe place now There's not alot to read. It's dated 28th March 2003. It just says; 'With reference to your query may we advise your policy will cover Flame whilst out on the roads wearing a Natural Hackamore. This is providing you take all reasonable precautions'.
Mrs A Gill Equine Underwriting Department
Where it says 'This is providing you take all reasonable precautions' I would advise that the person riding on the road has passed level 1 PNH or simular. I think having a qualification would be seen as having taken reasonable precautions, on paper at least. I just thought I'd mention that I had written conformation in case anyone ever needed a copy. You could always get in touch with the Underwriting Department yourself to ask for it in writing. When I first contacted PP by phone verbally they agreed it would be ok,but when I asked for it in writing it was a different story! I had to send pictures and explinations of how it worked before I got it in writing. While I was looking for the letter I also came across a company which sell Parelli horse insurance. South Essex Insurance Brokers. |
