Oh, I thought it counted as one question
That means Donna (Pashon2001) gets 5 points for the year, Mike gets 5 points for the name of the girl and another 5 for naming the stud as the dream as well?
What do you think
Lynda will have to be the strict but fair judge, I guess

Q 12:
Part one: Lady Anne's mother, Ada, Countess of Lovelace had two remarkable skills. What were they?
Part two: What did Lady Anne tell her daughter was her object in life?
Part three: What was the name of the first Arabian filly the Blunts bought?
If you answer all three parts you earn 5 points If you answer only one part, you earn 2 points per part

I only found an objective of Mr Blunt!! But its quite a good one. This was my first and most important object -- not to improve the breed -- for it really needs no improvement -- but to keep it pure; pure not only in blood, but in type also, to preserve it carefully from deterioration in shape, in temper, in hardihood, and from departure from those special characteristics of beauty which are peculiar to the ancient race." |

Well, that was quick
Stuart, you're quite right The countess of Lovelace was a very good musician and an extremely skilled mathematician. Actually, a programming language was named Ada in her honour
The first filly the Blunts purchased was Dajania, aka Lady Hester, Jessamine, and Jasmine. I'm not sure whether the points should go to Libby or Stuart - perhaps you shall have to split them between you
Part three - I was asking for Lady Anne Blunt's objective, and it does not have to do with horses. Mr. Blunt's objective is a very good one, though - I wonder what he would say to the horses of today

For Q12 part2 the only objective I can find "so far", "...of importing some of the best anazeh blood to england and breeding it pure there...it would be an interesting and useful thing to do and I should like much to try it." |

Stuart,
No, even though that also was a noble endeavor
Try looking in The Crabbet Arabian Stud by Rosemary Archer, Colin Pearson and Cecil Covey.

Stuart,
That's 5 more points for you
Isn't it remarkable how the greatest personalities are often extremely humble and modest people? I would have given my right arm to have known her (well - the left arm at least) She was SO intelligent and sympathetic and could have really shone if she had chosen to.

Rodania had an uncertain temper
"She is the only mare or horse in the stud that can be described as ill tempered and unsafe. She strikes with the forefeet, and kicks too."
