Has anyone else noticed the very odd blue bits that appear in some of the cubes? They are quite noticable if you look as in bright blue. Not the whole cube but bits in the cube.
Any idea what they are?
The only thing I know the is blue is rat poison so I'm a bit concerned.
The first bag I thought 'odd', the second bag I though 'mmmnnn very odd' but now a third bag 'really weird'!!!
Hi vera I work at a feed store so I will speak to the D&H rep and find out for you alternatly there is a helpline printed on the bags I am sure its a free phone number they are very good. Suregrow is one of our best selling products On way into work now will open a bag in store and see what I can see
D+H don't know what it is either although they guess it might be something to do with the copper supplement. They are sending me a lab sample bag so I can send them some of the cubes I have found.
We feed D&H Suregrow and yes I have noticed the occasional 'blue' pellet - I assumed that it was dye from the bags that had somehow filtered through from the blue bags. I haven't been worried about it though, as it hasn't created any problems with the horses' digestive systems!
It will be good to find out exactly what it is though -
If it's the copper, it might be because it's oxidised - it turns blue/green when this happens. Not sure whether that would be a problem though. Doubt it.
I am sure it wouldn't be dye from the bag. It could be copper sulphate as that is bright blue. So long as there isn't a lot of it and you don't feed other copper supplements it should be OK but large amounts of copper would be toxic.
