Sabrina, your mare is stunning!
A couple of suggestions which you might wish to consider:-
Imperial AlKareem (Imperial Al Kamar X Imperial Imtiaree by Ansata Imperial)
Lohim (Ansata Halim Shah X Lohelia by Morafic)
Best Wishes
Mike

Your mare is gorgeous.

Where is Imperial ALKareem, I haven't seen him before? I love his colour, nice to get a bit of pigment added to the grey!

Barbara, Imperial AlKareem belongs to the Moroccan Royal Stud and is in Belgium with Christine Jamar, I believe he sired this years Male & Female Maroccan National Champions. Here's a rather better head shot of him

Thanks, Mike, I assume you have actually seen him as you have the photos. What is he like, size, topline, legs, movement etc. and what are his weak points in your opinion?
Is he going to be in Belgium for another season, he is certainly beautifully bred.
Regards

Hi Barbera, AlKareem is just a whisker under 15 hands and so far as I am aware will be standing in Belgium next year. With 3 lines to Sameh he should (and does) have a good body to go with the pretty head. He is from the same dam-line as the US multi-champion Park horse *Sakr, as is his sire too, so I think he would be very likely to pass on his own good movement. He has I believe his grandsire's (Ansata Imperial) playful nature and does to my mind more resemble his dam's side of his pedigree more than his sires.Another picture will I think adequately cover his topline etc. Plus he's a nice colour too!

Hi all, whilst on the subject of Se's..... there is one SE stallion that I have not seen in the flesh but I have always wanted too. His pictures and pedigree have always interested me, I think he is beautiful and that is the stallion Hamra Aligance - gorgeous!

Mike they should give you commission, I think yo u have sold us all on this lovely stallion. But the elusive question what does it cost? Transport mare to Belgium or AI? Plus stud fee / keep. An AI station I know charges basic keep 8 £ a day, plus all associaited charges, and if mare is there for several cycles.....
Any info on the costing would be appreciated by many I am sure. ps, looked at your web site and wish I'd known about you when I lived in Aberdeenshire for a few months last year. Lovely. |

Pat, the stud fee is 1000 Euros or just under £700 which seems quite reasonable or at least not extortionate depending on your point of view! Chilled semen is available but would depend on being close to a major airport to be able to get it in time. Unfortunately the journey time to Aberdeen was too great, and transporting a mare with a foal at foot all the way to Belgium was a non-starter! Much better to plan ahead and have the chosen mare left barren, I think. Off the top of my head I can't recall what the keep charges are unfortunately, I don't think they were excessive though.
Pat, Visitors are always welcome feel free to drop in if you are ever up here Pity I'm not on commission perhaps...
For those who like their SE's to be dark chestnut, there is I believe frozen semen from the first ever SE to be world champion, Sherif Pascha 1982 (Ansata Abbas Pasha X Sabah by Ibn Galal)
He has sired b***k's too
Michelle, I can't be absolutely certain but I think I have Hamra Aligence on video somewhere Very very nice

From my own experience - and I promise you I was scared silly - importing frozen semen CAN be rewarding.IF you have a little bit of luck and the right vet-ie :one that is prepared to turn out at all hours to scan the mare for exact time of ovulation. There is a 6 hour 'window' for optimum result -in real life that means a foal or not given the reduced viability of frozen semen. So - with the right vet and an easy mare(that means one who doesnt mind the scanner up her bum every 6 hours for a few days-or at least doesn't threaten to kick when she sees the black box...mine got difficult to catch towards the end IF the vet got THAT box out of his van before she was in!)the whole world is open nowadays to the mare owner. I'd spend a lot of money on the internet if I were you - you may find the right boy there - or you may find him around the corner... |
