Well done yourself, Lynda for posting the 'riddle' - it's like someone said here previously: this is not an exclusive club - anyone is welcome to join the fun Fun and learning is what this quiz room is all about anyhow. LOL - talk about teaching your granny to suck eggs - you were instrumental in starting the quiz room so you'd know

Ok, I think you are ready for PART III so here it is.
PART III
Many people considered me, to be an expert
I have in my time-shared my home with Queens
I was once described as dynamic
I had a four legged friend called stripy
My mother called me Cornelis
Who am I ??????

Hi Lynda,
Sorry no, but so as to put you all out of your misery LETS look at the clues. This is indeed a Man who made a difference to a lot of peoples life’s for he dared to go to Russia and do business, with the Russians, the bloodlines that were made available to all of us in the West, change the Arabian breeding scene for ever and gave us some fantastic Arabians.
This man visited Russia during the COLD WAR YEARS
His son who bares the same name now runs the stud farm.
He was an Expert at Russian bloodlines
He has had mares that were considered Queens of Tersk
He had a pet zebra called stripy
His second Christian name was Conelis
This has been a tribute to a remarkable man his name is Mr. Robijn (Robbie) Cornelis den Hartog, founder of the Famous 'Kossack Stud.
I know Jude thought it was he, well done Sis but the rules are
IT IS That Horse IS
Not I thought it was I Think it is Maybe Jude or Jane would like to add more about this remarkable man, for I think they knew him first hand, I for one would welcome there input.
But before I close this one, I have this last question
Who is this horse with Robbie at Tersk and what is the link between them

OK let's see what you all make of this - an VERY easy one to start with.
I'm the son of a famous stallion whith whom a new "breeding fashion" was established but I'm not an example of this type of breeding.
Who am I and what is the name of the type of breeding? Good luck!

I think we're looking for a son of El Shaklan, who started the 'Golden Cross' 'breeding fashion'.

Anne I really have to appologiza to you as you got the second part of my question right - yes, I was looking for Golden cross - well done and please forgive me. However, we are still looking for the horse himself and he is NOT Golden Cross. |

To give you a clue, the sire of Gabriele's grey was a chestnut, whilst his dam (a grey) was by Bandong
