My riding pony filly is hopefully in foal to a registered PBA. My filly has some Arab blood from her sire but not enough to register as a PBA. How can i find out if her foal will have enough Arab blood to register as a PBA?

If you give me the breeding, I'll try to work out the percentage. Parents and grandparents would be helpful.

Thanks Lynda, OK, Sire will be Sandbourne Royal Ensign who is by Keston Royal Occaision (Downland Mandarin x Clyphada Periwinkle) out of Cusop Anita (Cusop Dignity x Cusop Actress)
The dam (my filly) is Crimson Royal Ensign who is by Hurstead Spruce (Cusop Disciplin x Hurstead Petite Fleur) out of Whitemoor Soverign Lady (Stanley Grange Soverign x Whitemoor Dainty Lady)
Hope this is enough info.... |

Thank you Georgia, I just hope the foal is safe and healthy, anything extra will be a bonus! However, enough Arab blood to register as a PBA will be the iceing on the cake! |

Hi Katie
I'll work it out this morning, and come back to you. Cusop Disciplin has quite a large % of Arab blood. If there's more there I'll find it. Keep everything crossed!

Katie Without giving anything away at the moment, is your mare registered with the National Pony Society? I've gone back to 1930-'40s and have found quite a lot of Arab blood, so now keep everything crossed. I've got to double check-so watch this space!! Lynda |

Good news Katie!
Sandbourne Royal Ensign has 14.46% and that has been verified by the AHS.
Your mare, I have worked out, has 14.14%. So that means both the mare and the foal have enough Arab to be eligible for registration with the AHS.
I know that Hurstead Spruce and Whitemoor Soverign Lady are NPS registered, so what you will have to do, is send your mares NPS certificate to the AHS for them to overstamp it. If you want to know more details regarding her pedigree and percentage, give me a shout.
It's amazing when tracing pedigrees, just how much Arab is in ponies you would never consider had any Arab blood. The Coed Coch ponies being one example. I'm so pleased to have helped. Let me know how you get on.

OOOOOOOO! Fantastic Lynda!
I didnt realise that my mare had enough Arab blood to be a PBA! I have been telling everyone on this site I have 2 PBA's and a riding pony, but I have 3 PBA's!
Will have to sort out getting her overstamped and then will def register her foal as a PBA too!
Thanks a lot Lynda, you have made my day! |
