Just trying to trace my mares relatives(see "any info new mare" on forum). Think I've got most of her dams side. Her sire is SAROUKH who is owned by P Wainwright and I think was bred at Woodlay stud, Cornwall. Just trying to follow up Saroukh's line. As far as I know Saroukhs sire is MUDASSAH, whose sire is MUSTAPHAH. However not sure who MUDASSAH's dam is and what her breeding is, where shes from etc. Any info on any of these would be fantastic. Thanx!!!

Hi Pauline - any info you've got would be great. I'd love to know more about the bloodline and what they were like as ridden or shown arabs. Will try and email you, but they don't always seem to get through when going through the profiles here, so if you want to email me direct my address is MIRANDATRICKER@aol.com Thanks! Lokk forward to hearing from you! |

Hi Miranda Just seen your posting. Mustaphah would now be in his twenty's and living inCornwall if he is still alive. He was the most typey stallion of his time. Not a huge hore but lots of presence and a head to die for. I was great friends with his owner Penny Harrison and had known the horse from a weanling. I showed him a few times when Penny was pregnant and was honoured to have him with me in Kent for a season. He was BNC in 91 and then unshow until we took him to malvern some 5or6 yrs later and he won the veterans with me showing him! That proves what a super nature he had. Pennys children used to stroke and be around him and my son who was then 4yrs helped to scrub and shampoo him when we took him to Towerlands where he was high points champion. His stock are typey and Mudassh has produced Saroukh who is proving to be a good ridden horse. Also Nigel Fuller rode one of his sons and did well with him. I owned Jediah, a son and full brother of Mudassah. He was a striking colt who sadly broke a leg and had to be put down. The dam is an American babson bred mare Serra Char Llany who was imported from USA. She also was a lovely old lady. Mustaphah was broken by Paul Atkinson who was very fond of him also. He was fun to ride but preferred to show off in hand. He would walk quietly up to the ring and the minute he was in there would prance and show off as if to order. He was a serious once in a lifetime horse and a real gem. I admire Penny because she was offered a fortune for him and turned it down to keep him as her own horse. I have lost contact with Penny now as you do over the years of moving around and I now also live in the West Country . I think I also know Pauline who has replied to you and her gelding. He has done v well at endurance. Regards Debbie |

Hi Debbie Nice to hear from you again. Both Mustapha and mudassah are both alive although i do not think musty is doing that well.Mydass as you say has done well in endurance. He was placed in his first race ride which was very good as i put him in as a replacement at the last moment.he is now 8 and next year we will up his work and ask more of him.I may show him at the national next year. Pat
Thank you for that. Jayne has contacted me as to how to do this. I will give it a go tonight and if I cannot do it Jayne has volunteered to upload them for me.
I must say having spent a few hours last night reading some of the input here I was impressed with the very open, none dogmatic views of nearly everyone. It is a pleasure to see after some on the forums I have read recently.
I think people forget the we are all individuals (like our horses and ponies) and our lifes' experiences brings us to view things in a unique way.
Our perceptions are not "wrong" they are just our perceptions. We do not have to agree or disagree with anyone else; it is not mandatory for holding a good conversation. The world be a better place it we looked more closely at this subject.
Anyway, to reinterate: I felt that the general tone of this site was caring and genuinely coming from a point of sharing information and from kindess. You should all be proud of yourselves.
Kindest regards

I have email the 'webmaster' with pictures of my herd 5 pics (6 horses; 5 are pure breds) to add to my signature tonight.
I have not put the pictures of Mudassah and Mustapah on the list as I was not too sure of the rights of passage on using photos of other peoples horses.
So, those who want those pics please email me and I will send direct. I'll start a 'group' in my address box for those interested. Or, maybe the ones that Jayne loaded will sort them selves out.
Jayne, maybe you could take off all the ones except Mustaphah and Mudassah and that may lighten the load and let the pictures of the two greys through? Don't know how it works really to be honest
Regards to all
