to tell me if for some reason my posts are of no interest as I spend a lot of time putting pics on and telling my news. I used to have a lot of super friends on here that although I never met anyone on AL offered words of support when Milly had her Operation and broke her jaw and when fabbi got bitten by a snakes and was soo ill.
It may be me....... I know that I can be hypersensitive but it just seems that I am on the whole ignored, which is fine, if I am not wanted on the forum I will bow out gracefully, I don't understand nor will I pretend to understand why????? I know alot of you know each other and I originate from the "big horse" world as opposed to the Arab world having only had them for 30 years, but I just get the feeling that I am an outsider on here now, which is really sad, I don't want to impose my pics on stories on anyone if not wanted so please SOMEONE just say........ don't bother, I would much rather that than be ignored........... I will be sad as have made some lovely friends on here albeit never met but hope to one day and had hoped that I could meet the people who have taken the time to respond to my posts and pics and offered support in my darkest days and to them I will be eternally grateful as been so low at times, as do suffer with depression, although I have no reason to, so please someone, even pm me and kindly tell me not to bother. Thank you Gerri

Thank you Mittens.......... there are a few still on here that respond to my posts and its great, but I come on here where for whatever reason I am not up to facing the world, like most people get days like that I think, and its nice to read other peoples lives too and their horses but I can only guess that the majority of people on here now for whatever reason are just not interested which is fine, its their perogative, I just thought someone would think it only fair that I be told that "hey don't bother" but I guess I can work that one out for myself, but thank you to all who are still on the forum and remember Millys plight and Fabbis plight with the snake for all your support and kind words even if you don't respond now, that help and support was really appreciated as I come from a totally non horsey family and it was really just on here and a few friends that were able to lift my spirits. |

I don't get much time to reply to posts - most of the time I've got a cat on my lap or sitting on the keyboard too which never helps so I tend to just lurk. Sorry you're feeling neglected, I will make a point of reading more posts in the future and replying more. I just sometimes feel that an answer of a a couple of words or so doesn't really help? |

Oh Karon it was not my intention to make anyone feel guilty just feeling silly that I have posted and that no one is really interested and even one word can make sooo much difference, please don't feel guilty , and thank you so much for your response, I have had a lovely pm from someone that brought tears to my eyes it was such a lovely message, I think I AM BEING SILLY, I suffer with depression and get really blue sometimes and AL has helped me so much through some really bad times and its been the people on here that understand how broken hearted you feel when your horses or other animals are ill, hurt or suffering, my family tend to be " for goodness sake pull yourself together its only a horse, dog or whatever" so its only really like minded peple that truly understand how devastating something regards your beloved animals can be, again thank you Karon x |

Gerri, I really enjoy your posts, all the news from France and about your place and horses. And I love photos, infact I'd like more, of your house, plants, and more stories of what you are doing, what your plans are how the horses are doing. Your posts are ALWAYS interesting. But, like Karon, I tend to read most stuff on the forums, and dont often reply . Sometimes I am going to reply but dont because I feel a short sentance may sound wrong or just that other respondants have said what I was going to put so it seems pointless. Dont let this putyou off posting please, your stuff is very like a blog I think, great to read and you make my day ,at least, a bit brighter. Take care Jill |

I tend to lurk a lot and don't post very often. Being a one-arab owner, and a part-bred at that, I sometimes feel that I don't have a lot to say, and when I do, it tends to be smug, look-what-we-did post which can annoy people! Having said that, I had A LOT of support after Marygold damaged a tendon last year.
Also, don't forget it's summer and people are out playing in the sun. It's ALWAYS busier in the depths of winter.
So keep posting! And I will try to make more of an effort to reply so you don't feel ignored. How's that?! |

I sometimes don't get on for a week or so due to horses and work, just not enough hours in the day, so often everything that needs to be said has been said. Also, unlike you, I bottle up my problems although I know "a problem shared is a problem halved" I don't do it.
I recently lost my best mare while she was out on breeding loan. Only a few close friends knew but I am absolutely devastated, comletely gutted; she is irreplaceable as I could never afford another mare of her quality and she was my hopes for the future of my breeding program. I was asked by if I wanted to put an obituary in for her as she was such a special mare but I am too upset at the moment, maybe next time.
There are often reasons why people don't respond but it has nothing to do with you personally so please carry on posting.

With all your lovely messages and pm's, I am feeling really silly now!!!! I am sooo sorry to all of you for feeling the way I did, you are truly lovely people and I obviously was having one of "my moments" I want you all to know that I was really touched and wanted you to know that a kind word makes such a huge difference to me and to others that post and I have felt that I have got some really good friends on here who have offered there support when times have been dark and other times when I have felt joy and wanted to share it with you too, Thank you all for being there for me and each other, there must be so many people on here that are in the same situation as me or similar, but the trouble is when something is affecting us we just think we are the only ones in the world to be so affected by whatever it is, I am really talking about me as can be a little self involved, sorry but I really really want you all to know and be able to feel how much I appreciate you all for being there for me when needed and Please God I can be there for you all too if needed. I am totally gaga about my animals, and my family do not understand it at all and get quite annoyed with me and my mother thinks I should have "grown out" of this years ago, and I cannot explain to her that not only is it in my blood, but without my animals I would cease to exist, and if I can save just one living creature from pain or starvation or danger then my life has purpose, so I tend to share my animal things with you all on here and read with interest joy and sadness about your experiences and feel for your experiences whether it be happy or sad, I would have written yesterday, but went to a friends barby and then got up this morning and rushed to a flower fete which was lovely came home and the first thing I did was come on here to read your posts and to Thank you all for your kindness, I would be lost without all of you on AL x Gerri |

They just don't understand, mind you I don't understand their way either, so I am just as guilty, much to my parents horror I used to bring all sorts home to feed or to make better as a very small child, so its something that has always been there and your friend sounds like a wonderful person. Thank you I will look for them |

Dear Gerri, I have been guilty of reading and running recently so I'm sorry for that. I also love to read about your new life, horses etc etc. I also fully understand how disheartening it is not to get replies to posts. I have recently put some posts on and not had many replies, loads of people read but don't comment. I can't help but feel a bit paranoid about it too so know what you mean. People often think they know me but they don't. I am not weird and certainly not a liar. I speak of my love for my horses and that gets twisted into something else. I also feel like I shan't bother any more but then I get reminded of what wonderful friends I have made through AL. Some I have met and some I haven't but intend to one day, they are the ones that matter.
So celebrate the friends you have and don't worry about the ones you haven't. We may be a small clique but on the whole we are a well meaning, friendly bunch and when the chips are down most will rally round. |

Well Vera I know I have never met you but, you have been there for me at times when I have posted on here and you come across and a lovely woman and also you also helped me when I needed it most with your kind brave words and I have alot of respect for straight talkers so, I am glad that I can count you of one of my many friends that I have conversed with on here, and I know for one how cruel people can be without reason and it really hurts, and if thats what floats their boat then they are very sad peopple as its as easy to say something nice as to say something negative, so YOU along with alot of others on here are lovely people, and have taken the time to say something positive to someone, not just me but lots of others too that have needed a kind word and to know that others do care too, so big hugs to you and many many others x |

Sorry RAFA I also meant to say that if I can help you in anyway with your move to France, let me know, it is fabulous here, bit of a culture shock in many ways but once settled in you will love it the people are lovely and only to ready to help if wanted without being nosey and there is quite a big social "horsey network" without the bitchyness that can be in some horsey circles I have made lots of new friends here and they are really great and enjoy meeting up, maybe its because we are all in the same boat, struggling with the language etc and life is a lot slower too, takes some getting used to but well worth it |
