As you know I lost my beloved Freddie last month and life has been pretty pointless ever since!
I've done what I always said I would do when I lost him (altho I didnt think it would be so soon)- got a dog. Albeit my plan was to rescue I seem to have been chosen by Heidi!
She is a delightful little JR x Westie (WestieJack I am told) My days now have purpose and I am starting to enjoy a new way of life.
She is very strong willed already (10 weeks)so I want to make sure I am not giving her any mixed signals. Been reading books but would like other terrier owner's input on how to train her properly. Can anyone recommend a good forum???
Thanks as always, especially for all your kindness during my years here with Freddie
Sandie, that's wonderful news! I'm so chuffed for you. Anything by Ian Dunbar is always a great place to start. He's wonderful, very well written and amusing. Avoid the dog whisperer (jan fennel OR the american one that's on sky!). Positive reinforcement is the way forward.
I used to go on Dog Pages too, but then arabs took over
