Hi!
I have an interview and part of the process is teaching something to a group of people for three minutes so I was wondering if you guys have any ideas for me. I initially thought of something horsey but not sure what in that space of time, and how to make sure that there is interaction within the group
Thanks in advance :)

Hi will, years ago now i had to do a similar task when i was doing my teacher training. I took in some home made drums shakers and a cybal and I divided them into three groups then i gave them a sound to perform and quickly taught them a simple piece. I conducted and did the melody I think i did a quick rendition of the 'Dambusters'Some did the droning of the planes, some did the gunfire. Some drummed the beat and crashed the cymbals as i conducted. It was fantastic fun and everyone fell about laughing at the end. |

Brilliant idea Alice as it takes the spotlight off you and everyone joins in. |

Hey thanks for the idea alice! Erm im maybe thinking of using kazoos and getting a melody together with them, the time limit is going to be the problem so will probably just keep it simple.
Any ideas for a song that everyone will know??

Can you get them to do a 'round'? Whatever age they are it's very satisfying to get the harmony going. You'd have to teach them to listen only to themselves and stick to their tune. As kids we used to do Three Blind Mice and to be honest, even if they're adults, if they haven't done it before, they'll find it amusing. They all know the tune and you can do it nicely in three minutes.
Of course if they're all experienced choral singers, it would be a bit superfluous! |

Hi will, have you done your teaching thing yet? Just curious to know how it went and what you did? |
