last night was truly shocking I thought.

Was he truly that deeply disturbed or was he just an evil man??

Cant get my head around the fact that he killed his daughter and wife and all the animals and then set fire to the place and in the killed himself.

Is money really the root of all evil?

To take a gun to his daughter and wifes head like that is truly awful!!

Did'nt watch it but read that he methodically shot horses, dogs and then daughter and wife in head. I think money, materialism, really is the root of all evil.

The love of money is the root of all evil, according to Jesus, not money itself.

I suppose this chap worked on the grounds that 'if I can't be free and happy and have these things then no-one can' hence destroying it all. Over attachment to the material. And, I guess, he couldn't face the shame and humiliation of his family, so killed them too. I don't understand it, but I can sort of see how it might have come about, and how someone feeling utterly desperate ends up thinking in circles and loses all perspective and rational thought; and sees total destruction as the only way to escape.

I didn't see the programme, incidentally.

He was sucuicidal before the event.

he had asked a friend of his to make sure his wife and daughter werre looked after if he did anything. He also told his own doctor that he was going to take his own life.

Also a week before he did it the housekeeper had come into work and she said that they were all crying because they had been watching a video of their wedding day and had got photo's out of him as a child and when they were growing up.

Quite sad really that he thought the only way out was to kill everything and anybody that meant so much to him all over money.

His brother had found bank statements etc and read through them and he was about 1million pounds in debt to just the banks alone. And that 5 years earlier he had an estimated wealth as in money in the bank of around 10 million.

I watched the programme and found some of the footage quite disturbing. They showed quite a lot of scenes from his own security camera's. Including him walking to the stables with the shotgun. He 'only' shot two horses, the second horse did not die from the gun shot as on postmortem the horse was found to have smoke in his lungs. The other horses died in the fire. They showed graphic footage of the charred bodies, including the dogs. It looks like he shot one dog but didn't kill it as you can see the blood trail.

The housekeeper pointed out something very poignant, apparently she made a comment about never being able to own a car like theirs, apparently he said to her 'at least you own it'. Now she knows what he meant by that.

My sister and her friend mentioned the program today and said it was very upsetting in places, my nieces were in floods after the animals were on.I thoght there was still the point that he didn't actually shot himself as the gun + silencer were too long for him to have killed himself but that the smoke got to him? Didn't watch so only going on what I've heard.

didn't watch the programme but read it in the papers.
So sad that he felt he had to take his family with him.

Consider that he did not do it...that he was mixed up with some very clever, shadey characters and that they were all murdered.
You remember the umbrella murder and the Russian guy who was poisoned with radioactive matter. We live such simple lives, nothing is impossible and when you are tallking about millions..who knows.
I don't believe he could have done it so systematically if he had been unbalanced. And I don't believe in everything the media is fed.
I think there is a conspiracy theory in there.
