Does anyone have a crabbet/egyptian cross? Photos would be good too if you have them. Does anyone breed them with success? Ros

I did, bred by Cassie Evans on Angelsey. Sorry I am rubbish at photos, but she was compact very correct little mare (14.2/3) who was bought for endurance (by a vet!) |

haha...I am biased of course but it's a lovely mix - the 3yr old out of the partbred mare (mostly Crabbet) is something else!! Will post some pics when I've found them... have a sweet one of Prince snooaing on my phone but no idea how to make it 'go' into my PC!! |

Hi,
The E/C crosses that we have here are Oriyanna Nazara, Crystal Ora Sheen, Tiara Nazarra I think it's a nice cross.
Over the years there have been many lovely show horses of tht breeding, Alia for one!
It makes a good cross, but then let's face it. Crabbet is like chips. Goes with anything!!

My boy is 75% egyptian with the remaining 25% crabbet. I might be biased but to me he represents a very good type arab, he is typey and conformational very correct, he has done very well inhand being swedish reserve junior champion and got a great silver medal at Towerlands. He has done showjumping with great success and had a fantastic season in ridden showing last year, including 2 hoys qualifications. His temperament is to die for. When he is done with his ridden career he will be our foundation stallion, and we will certainly try to continue this cross.
Hopefully we will be able to breed more horses like him-
A level headed performance arab with the looks and type to also excell in the showring.
If you are concidering this cross for a foal, id say go for it!!

Hi Ros! This is a cross i like very much!
This is our gelding boy Yehudi (Kasadi x Sophy) ...Who is on loan to Ceri and will be out under-saddle this year!
And his older brother Cezare, who we had on loan (who is the reason i have Yehudi!)
Also we have Ghaleems boys sire and dam and the cross is due agin in 3 weeks! Here's Ruwi as a foal! Ruwi is growing into such a lovely horse and I'm sure will turn his hoof to most things ...Micheal you are so good with him its so nice to see all of the pics with him out and about!
And on my wish list is for a foal from my crabbet mare Makk Nishra (Shogun x Nowra) by our stallion Qamar El Dine, this will be a 50/50 split. but I'm going to have to wait a few years!
I think the E/C is a lovely cross.
Linda x

Oh wow, i had forgotten Ruwi was a se/crabbet cross, he is one of my all time favoutites . I love that slide show of him, he really is amazing. Some great mixes out there. Malak, you boy is superb too. Linda, your boy is lovely. I am looking forward to seeing Qamar's foals this year, though perhaps not as much as you are . I love your boy, is is just gorgeous. If ruwi is anything to go by, this years crop will be outstanding! Ros x |

I think that would be the best mix ever, only my personal opinion though as I think the substance of the crabbet and the refinements of the egyptian gives the very best of both qualities, and I think, and again only personal opinion, that some of the best horses I have ever seen have been this mix and I thought they were just fabulous |
