Had to tell you all that my lovely old girl Fayrelands Hawaiian Dawn popped into the trailer for the first time in about 4 years and went to a dressage show last week.
Bearing in mind dressage has never been our thing and she has been a happy hacker since breaking her leg at 18 she won the veteran class and came second in the open against all the 30 or so young horses OK it was only walk and trot but what a superstar she was. She also got a 6th in P10.
Got very emotional because this horse has turned her hoof to everything with me and I hate the thought of her retiring or leaving me.
Well done to you both Its great to hear of our golden oldies getting out there & showing the younger ones how it should be done! You've every right to be as proud as punch..I would be
Lovely to read another golden oldie still allowed to strut their stuff My oldie tried dressage for the first time at 26 too and was superb! Just last week she won the veteran class at a local show, now at 29 she is showing no signs of slowing down. I am humbled and honoured to be sharing life with her and I know you will understand exactly what I mean.
