If you have received the pack with the Malvern schedule and the 2008 accounts, then the Notice of the Annual general meeting and details of buiness to be considered are on the first page of the accounts booklet.
The only two items on here that are not just the "normal" are
Consider a special resolution to remove the need to "elect an honorary president" - (this is because no nominations have been received)
& "discuss" the possible withdrawl of the members insurance
I know there are additional "questions" that members have submitted that presumably will be discussed in any other business.

Thanks, I'll have a dig through what's at home. Have to admit I didn't have a proper look when it arrived |

I think it will probably have been put there by the accountants\auditors - as that is the standard practice place to put the notice. I have half a dozen Charity and\or PLC ones here and they are all in the same place.
Dont think anyone was trying to hide it!

The official notice is generally always on the first page of the accounts. I think there was only 2 or 3 years that didn't happen around 2003.
It was put there by me following precedent of our procedures. It is not a legal part of the accounts but it is our legal notice of the AGM.
Last year (2008)the only other reference to the AGM in the post out was in the 'Council Update' put together by me, as follows:
IMPORTANT DATES
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING Saturday, 29 March, 2008 Royal Overseas League, St James Place, London For all AHS members
We don't organise refreshments any more - better for people to do this individually with the host premises, to co-ordinate with their timings and requirements.
This year it has been overlooked for the newsletter but as said it is on the first page of accounts and has a full address. Most people are able to find the details by internet or phone the office.
I will try to get directions or a map up on the AHS site under 'News' asap.
Hope to see many of you there. Best wishes Heather |

Strange as it seems not everyone is on the internet, so directions should have been included as a matter of common courtesy. Why expect staff at Windsor house to answer phone calls giving directions. What a waste of time.
And what of the regional groups meeting?
More information there would have been helpful.
Most unprofessional. |
