There are some truly amazing crabbet arabians being bred in Australia. There are some lovely arabians being bred in this country without a doubt, but the Aussie's seem to be of a different type. I know all this is generalisation. Is this due to their climate (hotter/dryer?), or their breeding program on the whole? Ros

Hi Ros, That's a good question, maybe the climate has something to do with it. But they also have bloodlines which are lost to the UK and the continent, although Llain Arabians have bought Excel to reintroduce the lines. i would love to go there one day to see the Crabbets. Monique |

Yes, me too monique. Crabbet breeding seems to be much more popular over there than it is here. have you seen Excel? i checked out the website the other day, and there are new STUNNING pictures of him on there. He is lovely! I'll be interested to see what he produces this year. Ros

Thanks for your nice comments about Excel. It is so difficult to take good pictures of him, he likes being close to us! His first foal is due today!!! Would love to say that I am perfectly calm and patiently awaiting its safe arrival, but I can't tell a lie, I am sooo excited!! If you get the chance to go over to Australia to see the crabbets there you should, they are fab, the breeders are friendly and so helpfull. |
