I've always used boots on all four legs with over reach boots. I currently use the N.E.W Dressage boots and just the cheap rubber over reach boots with the velcro fastenings as there easier to get on/off. I've also used the Clarendon boots and they always washed well and lasted ages. Hope this helps. |

All my horses are worked in a set of brushing boots and overreach boots too. And you don't have to spend a fortune! Much rather trash a 15 quid set of boots then have an injured neddy. Woof brushing boots are good - last for ages. The ones with Hi Viz straps do 2 jobs too... have only known 1 baby retreat backwardsa round the box at sight of his own dayglo leggies |

ditto mrs vlaqc, you dont need posh expensive boots so long as they fit properly, Im using the equilibrium brushing boots and over reach boots for sunne at the moment,i like them cos they are soft and comfortable and they wash well,Ive found they wear very well too (have had them 2 years, they were mintys boots before sunne had themand they were fairly inexpensive, I always make sure her legs are protected.......better to be safe than sorry IMO. hope this helps, Emma x |

I'm with Emma here, Equilibrium boots (all of them!) are soft and flexible and light.
Something to bear in mind going in to the summer is also air flow/heat build up in the legs. Equilibrium have just launched a new boot, Trizone Allsport, that has good ventilation and is fantastically light. |

But if you buy the Westropp ones make sure you buy the right size. I have the cob-sized ones and they kind of spin around so the knee part ends up at the back of the knee. Gave them to a fellow livery whose horse has chunkier legs and they still spin. Anyone want a pair of cob-sized westropp boots? So nice when companies do 'pony, cob, ARAB and full' sizes, sigh. |
