I am so pleased: got home tonight to find that I have passed my OU Forensic Science course! And I got the top grade in over half of the topics too, so am even more thrilled; especially as I had convinced myself (as you do) that I had answered everything completely wrong and that the assessors could be heard groaning (and laughing) from miles away.

Well done. Does this mean change of career or huge promotion or is it something you wanted to do out of interest? |

Hopefully a change of career in time. I did it cos I want to do a degree and doing a short, intensive course is a good way to get back into studying; and I thought FS would be interesting and useful in many ways. And it was absolutely fascinating - I hope the OU go on to do further courses and an actual qualification in it. I'm now doing a course in Maths which I will need for a science-based degree - I'm thinking of trying for a chemistry or general open science/maths degree; useful for Forensics work and many other things too. I'm actually a typesetter/designer - about as far from forensics or maths as you can get! |

Wow you dark horse Alison!! Congratulations indeed - I wish you were closer and we could crack open a bottle of bubbly. What a fascinating subject too! I must say my idea of purgatory and torture would be having to do a maths degree, since I am a 'words' person, and have always had a total blank mind over maths. I think it's a phobia of sorts, caused by a very horrible maths teacher when I was 13!
FS, on the other hand, sounds so interesting, it would lodge itself in your brain by being so extraordinary and fascinating!
How great for you to be enjoying such positive changes. Love and hugs! |
